Rather than focusing on whipping votes to save her job as conference chair, Rep. Liz Cheney has been

It is a smart move on her part. She will not be tied down with committee work and do her own thing.
I think she will do well--and bring back the GOP--which I fear also. But I also think we need two Parties to be effective--not just one them known as the Party of NO.

Rather than focusing on whipping votes to save her job as conference chair, Rep. Liz Cheney has been drafting plans for increased travel and media appearances meant to drive home her case that Trump is unfit for a role in the Republican Party

4. I have always believed that the first woman president will be a Republican.

The garbage that I'm seeing from people on this board -- saying she should given a Cabinet position, for chrissakes -- solidifies that belief.

9. Really, because most of the posts I have seen are NOT praising her position on the issues, but

that she is NOT accepting the LIE that “trump won the election”

I have not seen anyone suggest she have a cabinet position, nor would President Biden even entertain that. Anyone who posted that absurdity, is definitely expressing a minority position on DU.

She isn’t a Democrat, nor will she become one, and the ousting of her position in the House by the republicans, and probable loss in the upcoming midterm election pretty much seals her political future

5. The praise is NOT due to her position on the issues, it is due to her not supporting the republican

lie that “trump won the election”, and acknowledgement that trump incited the attack on the capital

It is unfortunate that some cannot see that distinction

What are you want to stand opposed TO, at this point.

There are no longer any valid reasons to stand opposed to any of the following:

Action on climate change
Increased taxes for economic efficiency
Culture war nonsense (THEY know they lost that fight)
Less dark and dirty money in the political system is GOOD
Some form of national police reform/regulation is necessary

I guess if they want to fight with us about stuff like the capitol gains tax rate I'm down, but that seems like small potatoes honestly so...whatever.

I keep hearing and reading the statement that america NEEDS a sane and rational center-right party...

But no one can seem to tell me WHY.

at the insurrectionists. I assume she'll continue to reassure WY voters by standing with house Pubs on most policy issues, as before.

She is the poster girl for smart, strong, independent thinking women to leave the republican party. She is a reminder that republicans would rather they stay in the kitchen than question the boss man.
