Right now, I think the leadership is throwing out feelers, just to see what the Republicans will do. McConnell has already shown his hand, so Schumer can use that in talks with Manchin and Sinema.

I've seen several people suggest that Schumer should put Manchin and Sinema in charge of rounding up Republican votes. Maybe that way, they would see the futility of it all!
