We all have seen this for years, decades, lifetimes..... it is the way a too large percentage of humanity is... It shows a stunted growth in intellectual and emotional intelligence.... It is what it is, and Dems better figure out a way to fight back pretty damn quick.

Actually, as thrilled as I am that Swalwell said what he did, in a way it now opens up the door for repubs to say the same thing about masks, or anything else.. Of course the door was open anyway, eh....

You should feel no guilt that abusive assholes choose to give up their own humanity. It is damaging, traumatizing and painful to be around bad people. A visceral angry and disgust mingled with rejection, angry, even hateful reaction a person with empathy can have against these assholes in human suits is actually a strong normal positive yet discerning boundary to have.Bad people cause harm whenever they are around others. People who pretend these people are just like themselves deep down actually are in denial that some people because of who they are choose to forgo the most basic requirements that truly matter to be considered a human being.

Just because they share some bodily functions and a few emotional things with regular human beings does not mean they haven't chosen to be inhuman to human beings or that they care.

Recognizing, reacting to and keeping bad people out of power and away from vulnerable people in society is a much unjustly maligned important function in human society. Hate can fuel a desire to remove social toxins causing harm and it can fuel a strong protective reaction for a good reason. We would be incapable of hate if it didn't have a survival function.Stopping people that exist to harm and cause pain, suffering, exploit, bully or destroy human beings and animals is a noble cause that is so much needed now.

part of a group surviving. Thanks for the insight. Somehow I do feel guilty as if I just hadn't done enough to make things ok for everyone. I KNOW that's not true and the republicans have firmly imprinted that knowledge in my brain. I've led a pretty privileged and cosseted life. I'm 75 and finally having to confront something that I didn't really think existed. By the way, I'm a incest survivor but what these republicans are doing makes what my father did totally insignificant. He hurt one person, they are seriously hurting millions and they want to hurt them more. That's what I have such a hard time understanding. I think because there is no understanding. And, of course I feel so unable to do anything to make them pay for what they are doing. So I support, in anyway I can the Democratic party and its members and hope that the next generation will do what is necessary to safe guard the future of our country and its citizens. Damn I so want to be an avenging hero and make them pay for their evil now. Patience was never one of my virtues especially when I see something wrong.

hating bad people does not make you a bad person.

I once told my therapist how much I hate bad people and how I wanted to wipe all of them off the planet forever... Than I asked her if I was a narcissist for hating them so much.
She told me the fact I even asked her that question proves to her I am not a narcissist(bad person).
That made me think and it helped me understand and explore the survival aspect and purpose of hate.

These f*cking trumpers need to learn their place. They think they can say *anything* to anybody with zero consequences.

Since leadership refuses to take action, we're going to need a whole lot more Swalwells in Congress to shove the insurrectionists/traitors back into whatever crevices they came from.

at the very least to me. (perhaps deliberately? in order to focus attention and drive home a point?) But, whatever the intent -- this behavior doesn't garner glowing reviews in this corner. And I think it's counterproductive to draw attention away from Greene (and the traction gained there) -- only to add a layer of our own.

I know this puts me at odds with many here, but I just can't see this as helpful.

Edit: The media (all of them) absolutely love this sh*t. The American voter? Not nearly so much.

Since when did her little office Nazis start taking Biden recommendation to heart?

Gee, Marge, when did you decide to support something Biden said? Having an off day?

And the Members and their staffs respected that. There is no way a staffer would ever have been that disrespectful to a colleague of our boss.

This new crowd is very different and has no respect for the institution and its traditions

And I agree with other posters, staff need to show respect for Congressional reps regardless of party.

Why are they telling Democrats to stop wearing their masks? Because the CDC told them?

...and thugs. We are at that stage, now.

I wish people would stop attributing their behavior to some species of mental illness. I remember years ago when it was the fashion to try to “understand” playground and locker-room bullies, while their victims continued to be traumatized. Finally someone studied the studies, so to speak, and concluded: the first order of business is to make the bullies stop, not psychoanalyze them.

58. I don't think some people get their problem with masks

Its real simple. It really is.

Every time they see someone wearing a mask, they see "Donald Trump is a Con Man".

Its that simple. If Donald Trump hadn't tried to make Covid about him, everyone except the hard core "anti's" would have had no problem wearing a mask. Masks remind these people everyday that most of humanity sees Trump as a con man. End of story.

I've said this dozens of times already, but it bears repeating:

Get her ass out of congress NOW or whoever is in charge will be held responsible for not doing anything to make the workplace safe and harassment free! This is no longer a choice or an option. Allowing MTG and her attack dogs to roam the halls of congress will lead to legal repercussions (at the very least).
