They do not seem to have the ability to compute facts and evidence. We wonder why they cannot see what is directly in front of them?
Some believe surely they will see the light before the next election. They cannot continue to believe these lies forever?
But unfortunately, this Cult does not believe anything they do not hear from the mouth of their Leader, even if they see it with their own eyes.
Those that stand for nothing will fall for anything.
How do you get a Cult like this to see the truth?

its going to take several election cycles of their losing
The qgop leadership moving away from frump
Fux snooz reigned in possibly by reintroducing the fairness doctrine
And we the Dems have to be the constant never faltering adults in the room
Giving up or allowing the qgop to rest away power from us is not an option

(115,620 posts)For example, if the Justice Dept were to charge Donald Trump with a Federal crime, that would upset and confuse them very much, in my opinion. But, I seriously doubt that is going to happen. Perhaps there is a smoking gun out there somewhere that will shake their world?

(35,824 posts)I take solace in the fact that the party of the fascists is shrinking daily. The mail in voting ban is going to hurt them too maybe more than us.

They can be unpopular and in disarray and still win the house and senate in 2022

Faux Noise is the biggest threat now, they need to be taken down. Not sure how we do that, but Rupert Murdoch is pretty much retired. His sons are running the company, and I've read they're more sympathetic to the NY/liberal point of view.

(79,248 posts)Great question. By coincidence, I'm in the middle of an essay that details how people fell for Trump to begin with. I think it is essential that we understand that, at a deeper level than many currently do, in order to determine how to de-program those that might be able to break free of the cult. But there are a lot who will go to their grave believing in Trump.

(25,735 posts)He even "invested" his and his wife's entire retirement savings in a Jim Bakker scam.
He's lost it all, but he still believes. He says shit like "Faith isn't meant to be easy".
He is also convinced that God is sending him miracles because he has planted his Seed of Faith.
He is poor as a church mouse and has taken a job at a convenience store at the age of 75 because he can't pay his bills.
He will never learn, never change, never see beyond God is good, never stop being scammed. There is no talking to him on this subject.
Whenever I see a Trumper, I think of him.
