(12,939 posts)The real enemy is over there, on your right. Your allies against the fascist takeover of the republic, they are on your left.
If you are having trouble telling left from right, hold both hands up with their backs facing you and your thumbs out pointing towards your head. The 'L' shape is your left. The 'backwards L' is your right.

(3,037 posts)I really believe I am a centrist. I never voted for Nader or anyone other than the Democratic Partys candidate at every level. Is Rep. Clyburn on my left or right side? How about Stacey Abrams? Senator Blumenthal? President Obama?
I was born only being able to punch right. Thanks for the wonderful visual tips for your arms. Got any good ones for the feet and legs? Degrading your fellow Democrats seems to be your specialty and thank you for the swift kick in the nuts too.

There4 are way too democrats who hold their nose at the [prospect of working with the ones sold as far left. Let me be blunt, if you are a democrat of any stripe, even a Joe Manchin, you have m,ore in common with me than even a "nice" GOP. The afghans have a saying that has served them well repelling invaders, including us "My Brother and I might fight a cousin, but we will ALL fight an invader." Who know who the Invaders are.

(30,613 posts)anymore than the Qpublicans are. They can't legitimately call themselves liberal, progressive, or left-leaning if their votes or advocacy don't support real progress.
Let's focus on getting our real allies out to vote.

(25,367 posts)Say they're all bribed and corrupt wealthy elites who ignore the working class, hate progressives, will stop at nothing to block progressive legislature and must be replaced.
Justice Democrats:
"The Democratic establishment is simply unwilling to take action on transformative policies the working people of this country need. They are unwilling to take on this fight because so many Democratic politicians take money from corporate PACs and Wall Street CEOs that benefit from inaction. ... More than half of Members of Congress are millionaires."
"The Democratic establishment sometimes seems like one big bucket of Wall Street and corporate PAC money, all going towards protecting the broken status quo."
"There are far too many ties between the Democratic establishment and the corporations that oppose economic, social, racial, and environments justice for the people. ... But corporate Democrats continue to disappoint Democratic voters and working people."
Clearly, they want their supporters to consider Democrats the enemy, not Republicans. In Michael Moore's words, Democrats are "a greater roadblock to social progress than Trump is." People who say they're on the left punching Democrats, who are the left. They have a great deal of trouble telling left from right.
Interesting comment from JD as the have endorsed Nina Turner for congress. Nina is listed as a millionaire.

(25,367 posts)She's a grassroots millionaire! For everyone else, money is automatically corrupting. Just put the word "corporate" in front of anything, like "Democrats," and it's evil.

(41,102 posts)all ills- Nader, Sarandon, Moore, Stein, Turner and millions of followers!
Being on the left my entire life I don't see it, I know who the real anti democratic forces are and never once considered not voting for the Democrat.

(12,939 posts)because if you count all the 3rd party voters, the vast majority were Libertarian Party voters taking votes away from DJT. I think you want to restrict that to 3rd party voters who would otherwise vote Democratic.

(13,616 posts)we do not care who would otherwise vote democratic, we care WHO ACTUALLY DOES vote democratic, even if they are holding their nose on that one day of the year where it matters.

(83,623 posts)No one should have to grovel to keep 'lefties' on board for women's rights and peoples rights. The only ones that wanted to be angry were those that refused to vote Democratic. They did this themselves. Themselves as they voted third party or not at all. I'm sure it felt good at the time and we got a man as 'resident that nearly wiped us out.
This is on them.
DonCoquixote
(13,616 posts)But none of that changes the fact that Sarandon, stein et all did not help matters at all, and frankly HELPED the GOP.

We can see which was the more effective strategy.

(25,367 posts)Because the Democratic candidate was Satan and would appoint Hell-monsters worse than Trump would appoint? Something about "identity politics" and its unimportance? We were called stupid constantly, too stupid to understand the Glorious Revolution or whatever?
