Arresting people for standing up against the big lie and the big lie enablers... hhhhhmmm where have we seen that before!?!?!
If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State. Attributed to Goebbels... maybe he didn't say but I think it sums up what is in the neo GOP's shrivelling heart of hate 2021. Arrest anyone who does not offer featly at any cost to the dear leader.

(3,997 posts)Aside from making this crazy train a bigger media issue, who would issue the warrants? Under what legal claim? who would carry said warrants in hand and use them to arrest any election official? Local police? State Police? Some sworn in officer of the court? Oh, and what judge in their right mind would even consider issuing an arrest warrant? Even if he/she held a hearing before issuing said warrants, who would be the prosecution's lawyer? The state's AG?
Obviously, the lady (name escapes me now) who is the Senate President is so dumb she hasn't thought through the events as I've noted. No A.G., judge, or law enforcement type would touch any of these issues unless compelled to do so. And why does she think anyone with 1/2 a mind in AZ would back her up, save her majority senate R's?
Crazy is too small of a word to describe this train wreck!

If the Suns get into the NBA playoffs, the counters will have to vacate the premises during any home games or other scheduled events, like high school graduations. They were supposed to be done by now. They will soon find out they need a new venue.

(50,528 posts)The person or persons attempting to unseat Ms. Ward and her ilk will first show pictures of crumbling infrastructure in Arizona...then announce that but Kelli Ward thought it more important to waste your tax dollars on... displaying headlines of things like the Bamboo Theory, the Chicken Theory, and the rest of the insanity the pro-audit crowd is using to investigate a certified election.
As an aside, are we SURE the people coming up with this bizarre shit arent really Democratic trolls dreaming up outlandish no one would ever believe this scenarios during marathon tequila-drinking sessions? Hey man, I have a good one. Lets tell em Republican elections board members shredded their ballots, fed them to chickens then incinerated the chickens to cover their traces. (Three days later..,) Hey man, those idiots bought that shit...lets next tell em undertakers have been stealing the organs of dead people, selling them on the black market, then using shredded Trump ballots to stuff the bodies with so no one gets suspicious. And then, of course, when the Cyber Ninjas start demanding exhumation orders so they can inspect corpses for shredded ballots inside, the trolls will claim the foundations of new houses have shredded Trump ballots mixed into the concrete so that the Cyber Ninjas will have to tear down all the houses built since the election so they can test the foundations for evidence of ballot paper in the concrete.

(7,195 posts)I got blocked from the Daily Beast story because of the paywall, but found another report on it from The Guardian.
Where you learn:
- Ward made her threat - on OANN! (Shocking! Amiright?)
- OANN on-air "personalities" held fund-raise to PAY for the audit.
- Ward's comments came after the Republican County Supervisors refused to attend a meeting with GOP senators who had demanded the audit.
- Only two Republicans showed up for that meeting.
- The two Republicans only asked friendly questions to the "auditors."
- Because it was a meeting and not a hearing, those two Republicans blocked out Democrats who would have asked the tough questions.
- The meeting was broadcast online, but was not open to the press or public.
