OK.. bear in mind that I am a confirmed cynic...

But I got a little misty-eyed just now.
Pres. Biden was awarding a MOH to a Korean War hero, and the old gentleman seemed a little rocky on his feet.
Biden took his arm and whispered (I read his lips) "You can hold me up."
Damn... what a class act we have for President!
The man is a mensch!
I know I'll be pissed at him about policy from time to time, but I will never forget his humanity. And we NEED that about now.

5. I cried like a fool

He and President Moon also knelt down next to him for a photo.

It was a lovely ceremony. It was so nice to hear a real President speak as he awarded the medal to a real hero and not some shitstain radio host. Biden made them award ceremony about the recipient, Mr. Puckett, not about himself like some other orange president would have done.

11. Heck, I'd vote for that.

I feel comfortable enough with him to let my guard down and trust him implicitly.

I donít always feel that way about presidents - even ones Iíve supported. This president? I do. His character and compassion, and decades old f high-level experience. And a heart as big as all outdoors.

Just what the doctor ordered after the ordeal of the last four years with the Orange Pustule in charge.

9. Agreed

I have a short list of things I would like Biden to change or prioritize, but the man is a decent and caring person, and the right person for the job following the crap we had to endure the last four years.
My wife has pointed out that I would probably disagree with myself if I were President, so any complaints I have with the Biden Administration are insignificant compared to how grateful I am that he occupies the White House.

10. Ya, Joe is exactly who we need right now. He is sharp as a tack, deeply intelligent,

strongly humble, knows what he wants and has the experience to get it if anyone can. Underneath all of that, and most important, he is a truly wonderful and humane man. It has been an awe inspiring experience to watch him begin to pull things back into place to, hopefully one day, allow this nation and its citizens to return to peace within. His arrival and election almost makes me believe in god.

See what Biden is about, see what Trump is about. Those that prefer Trump, I don't want anywhere near me or my family.

I am reminded of the voter who said, "I don't know Joe Biden, but he knows me." (Probable partial paraphrase.)

19. I recall getting flack when mentioning Biden as a future Healer-in-Chief . . .

Comforter-in-Chief, etc. I based my statement on Joe Biden's history, anecdotal stories I'd read about the man's empathy. Several people suggested they didn't need a healer in the WH, that it wasn't the role of a president.

It's certainly not the only role.

But in the turbulent times we are a-living and after the last traumatic four years, I think the empathy attribute has moved up the list of things Americans want and need from a president.

Joe Biden meets the historical moment in experience, knowledge and personality/nature. It's one of those rare times when the man and moment seem wedded to one another.

We will undoubtedly all have times where we disagree with the Administration on policy and decisions made complaining a policy decision is perhaps too progressive or not progressive enough.

But when it comes to the one-on-one human element, Biden has it covered.

Because it's who he is.

33. The very defining feature of a sociopath is the inability to have empathy,

and it was appalling to find out, thanks to a psychopath, just how many people are truly incapable of empathy.

26. He really is a what you see.

There are 100ís of stories over the decades of his time in congress, his kindness, compassion and empathy. My initial choice for President was Harris I didnít think President Biden would be up to the task. Plus Harris previous time as a DA appealed to my large type want for DT to be held accountable & her time as DA would make her less apt to let a former President slide on crimes where as a 30-40 yr politician would. This remains to be seen but I was wrong about whether President Biden would be up to the task at hand. Very wrong. He is exactly what we need right now...and we came maddeningly close not getting him. If he allows DT to be held accountable and charged on top of holding the country together, avoiding an economic collapse and ending a pandemic he will IMO surpass who I had thought the greatest President I would live to see in the office. The man who used to be his boss when he was Vice President.

27. Besides the huge Democratic running field,

I think Biden's natural humility made it hard for him to fight off some of the critiques he received during the debates.

When I stopped and thought about it, that characteristic diffidence (the total opposite of TFG) was what began changing my mind about who we should elect. I really liked Warren, but the love and respect of James Clyburn was the clincher for me.

I do rather think it was a miracle that out of that whole talented field we got the very person we need at this time.

a physical weakness.

It takes a REAL mensch to go beyond that and see and act on the need to support their dignity.
