I believe he is self-serving and tends to lean to the right. He made a fool of himself during the Warren-Brown debate. I do not like him.

CoffeeCat
(24,411 posts)I wonder what in the hell he's done that the corporatists and the Republicans have on him--because Gregory has done a complete about face with regard to his reporting, his integrity and his politics.
Maybe people don't remember, but during George W Bush's initial years as President--Gregory was a thorn in the administration's side. He still had his integrity. He was still a journalist. He asked the tough questions. He sat in the front row and did his job. He challenged the President and pissed off the Bush Administration.
Gregory asked basic questions about the legitimacy of the Iraq war--questions that barely anyone else was asking. Most of the media was helping the neocons go to war, without challenging them. Gregory asked the tough questions.
Then, something happened. I have no idea what it was. We all know how seriously Karl Rove and the rest of them took any possible threat to their grand PNAC/neocon plan--of getting their foot in the Middle East and beginning their destructive nightmare. Look at what they did to Valerie Plame.
I have no idea what happened, I just know that he sold out. Completely. He's not a journalist. He is truly pathetic.

(28,705 posts)I can still see him in those news conferences asking those questions, and how DU reacted when he asked those questions.
It wasn't long after that he was reassigned, and his sell out is now a part of his legacy.
Shameful; and as you say, pathetic.

(20,870 posts)The nickname that dumbass GW Bush called him. I also cull up a mental image of him dancing on stage at a correspondent dinner alongside Karl Rove.
I don't quite share the vitriol of many here for him, but I think he's just another right leaning news personality. Certainly, many are much worse than him. I wouldn't use the term "reporter" to describe him.

(14,443 posts)Up until then, I actually had a positive opinion of him. He seemed to have a sense of humor, and since very few republicans have that, I had hope.
Then the dance. I think I may have even had tears in my eyes because those were particularly bloody days for our soldiers and I was just so angry that he was laughing and having such a chummy, kiss up time with the architect of all that pain.
