First time I saw him was in 1968 at the time that "Eyes Of A New York Woman" was released. He was a guest on a local teen show on WPIX in NYC called "Electric Village". The guest hosts that week were Mark Lindsay and Paul Revere, and I got to sit next to them during the show.

A few years ago, I went to NYC and attended several days of meetings at a company with offices on 42nd St, directly across the street from the Daily News building. WPIX had their studios there back in the day. I looked out the conference room window over the course of the meetings and fondly remembered that magical day.

New England when that song hit the airwaves of AM radio. We listened to WBZ, I think it was, in Boston even up the coast of Maine.
