Plane crashes into Percy Priest Lake; Christian diet guru Gwen Shamblin Lara, six other leaders from Brentwood's Remnant Fellowship on board, church says
SMYRNA, Tenn. (WTVF) A small airplane crashed in the water on Percy Priest Lake in Smyrna Saturday morning.
Several law enforcement and emergency agencies responded to the crash around 11 a.m.
Authorities located a debris field near the last sighting of a Cessna C501 registered to JL&GL Productions LP, which is a partnership formed by Brentwood-based Christian diet guru Gwen Shamblin Lara and her husband Joe Lara.

(34,384 posts)There are approximately six rescue boats and two drones searching on scene, I saw what looked like a lone life vest floating in the water. Others more experienced in rescue can probably make more sense of it than I could. Anyone interested in learning more about how these rescues are staged may find it interesting.
