North Carolina mom, teens went into high school and assaulted a girl in her classroom, authorities say
May 29, 2021 at 2:38 p.m. CDT
Parents in the North Carolina city of Greensboro are outraged after authorities say six students and a mother entered a school to beat up a 14-year-old girl in her classroom.
No charges have been filed yet against the students, as well as the 37-year-old mother and a 18-year-old, who stormed into Southern Guilford High School on Tuesday, authorities told WGHP Fox 8. The identities of the victim and assailants were not disclosed by authorities.
Capt. Brian Hall, a school resource officer for the Guilford County Sheriffs Office, told WRAL that school fights happen often, but that a parent being involved kind of took it to whole 'nother level.
Community members are demanding swift answers and accountability from the district and local authorities about how such a violent attack could take place on school property.
This absolutely shatters the sense of security, Misty Reagan, the mother of a student at Southern Guilford High, told WRAL. I absolutely cannot comprehend the amount of evil that it takes for someone to get in a car and drive across the county [and do this].

(1,666 posts)Lock all the violent criminal felony assaulters up and throw away the key. The school should be sued for allowing it to be that easy.

(32,109 posts)Unbelievable that a mother would encourage and facilitate something like this.
Everyone seems to have such a short fuse these days, and turn to violence to solve their problems.

(4,170 posts)This has made the news in the UK even. Friends of mine emailed me about it before I saw it here. No doubt these girls will grow up to be wonderful citizens. Hopefully no emoji needed.

(2,220 posts)I am not saying it is right, but this may be the result of authority not managing a bad situation in the first place.
The victim looks to be the largest person in the room. The assailants appear to be both black and white and enthusiastic about this. It would not be surprising to me if the victim in this incident may have had a pattern of bad behavior. My inclination is to look at the principal and the district supervisor when things like this happen. They get paid more and I suspect that they knew there were issues before it came to this.

(4,170 posts)I saw some bad behavior in school even back in my day. Not once did someones mother accompany a pack of girls into the school to assault another student. Please.

(2,201 posts)Even while these folks were coming into a school to beat someone up, they still had the good sense to wear their masks. Thus, keeping the nonbeatupees safe.
I'm not saying this incident is a good thing, but, the glass doesn't always have to be half empty.

Hey, just trying to keep my glass above the half-full mark....

(2,201 posts)They should get credit for that..but not 'extra' credit...just normal credit.
And..are you sure you were keeping the glass above the half-full mark?....maybe you were just keeping it above the half-empty mark.
I think we both have a lot to consider on this matter.
