Rep. Jason Crow said Sunday he was tired of "playing whack-a-mole" with Republicans on the Hill.
In discussing the Senate's rejection of a bipartisan commission to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, the Colorado Democrat said he was frustrated by Republicans moving the goal posts whenever Democrats made concessions.
"I'm sick of playing the game of whack-a-mole with GOP members in Congress. Every time we address one of their concerns, another one pops up," Crow said on NBC's "Meet the Press."
Republicans led by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked the proposal last week; the vote was 54-35 in favor of the commission, leaving it six votes short of the total needed to end a filibuster. Among those 11 senators who didn't vote, at least three were believed to be in favor of the commission.

Trump Fear in GOP Is Overriding Patriotism, Says Democrat Crow
(Bloomberg) -- Fear of Donald Trump and a desire to hold on to power is overriding patriotism within the Republican Party, a Democratic lawmaker said Sunday.
Representative Jason Crow of Colorado spoke on NBCs Meet the Press, two days after Senate Republicans blocked a bill that would have created a bipartisan commission to investigate the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol by supporters of the former president.
Fridays 54-35 vote was short of the 60 needed to start debate on the measure. Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell and Trump himself rallied most Republicans to oppose the probe.
Former Virginia GOP Representative Barbara Comstock said that commission or not, we will get to the truth about the Jan. 6 events.

Jason Crow Says 'I Share That Question' on Whether Bipartisanship Dead After 1/6 Commission Blocked
Representative Jason Crow, a Colorado Democrat, suggested he's unsure whether bipartisanship is possible any longer after Senate Republicans blocked the bipartisan commission into the January 6 attack against the U.S. Capitol from moving forward Friday.
Republican leaders in Congress came out against the bipartisan commission, which would examine the events of the January 6 attack carried out by former President Donald Trump's supporters. Despite the opposition of GOP leaders, 35 House Republicans voted in favor of the commission as did six Senate Republicans. However, the legislation failed to pass the Senate due to the legislative filibusterwhich would have required at least 10 Republicans to vote with Democrats.
During an interview with NBC News' Meet the Press on Sunday, Crow was asked whether the failure of Congress to approve the bipartisan commission demonstrates that "bipartisanship is really dead on any issue?"
"Well, I share that question, I really do," Crow responded.

Bipartisanship is overrated especially in this case.
