General Discussion

If you read Axios and the WSJ and others...
Apparently, Trump and surrogates have reached out to those in the digital domain about the creation of a platform, possibly even quizzing Peter Thiel and others.
The answer has been "it takes time" and "you'll need to find people who won't plant Easter Eggs or sabotage the software".
So... they're turned to an acquisition or merger of an existing social media enterprise with little to no followers or app downloads.
Enter CloutHub and FreeSpace.
They have the platform, the app and infrastructure in place. They need users. Trump can bring users.
Trump has previously announced the desire to do a 4th of July rally and many have speculated that the new social media collaboration will be launched then.
There. Now you know more than 99% of the general public, beyond the news.

(12,483 posts)And even if he did... don't forget, he raised $100m+ AFTER the election.
The owner/s of the app/platform have an opportunity to have 10M+ downloads in the first few days... they're begging him to pick their platform. They'll give him majority ownership for sure.
But Trump won't want to be on someone elses platform SOOOO... it'll be named something "Trumpy" and he'll claim it's his own. It's like buying a yacht. Starting with engineers plans and blueprints it takes FOREVER to get to a ship...
Find a yacht in the shipyard 95% built and roll in at the last minute to select the carpet colors, wood finishes and paint your name on the back.

It's well established that the TO was in a cash flow crunch since at least 2013.
A cash flow crunch, the revenues fall, then zero payment loans coming due...
I honestly don't know how much of that 9 figure pile of dough isn't already spoken for. But, it's not a huge % of it, for certain.

(12,483 posts)Let's just say it ends up at 25 million downloads.
I think it'll be more than that but that ties with Lyft.
An app can have a great deal of net value with 10's of millions of app users.

Yeh, Parler worked out really well. It was backed in full by the Mercers. (and probably every foreign intelligence service and identity theft ring in the known universe)
