So tell me, Pubbies ... who paid a higher price for the continued promulgation of your "big lie" bullshit?

(12,597 posts)That's usually very bad for Dems, even though special elections are notoriously underrepresented.
In this case Stansbury crushed her opponent. It's laughable, of course, that any Republican rep would blame loss of faith in election integrity when the GOP is actually creating the problem by pushing the Big Lie.
More savvy Republicans have admitted they were outspent, the decision being that throwing more money into the race where Dems had a clear advantage was pointless.
Both are excuses after the fact but at least one makes a smidgen of sense.

The message has really gotten around in this district.

(2,663 posts)that their accusations of fraud are baseless and they're just using the Big Lie as an excuse to pass voter suppression laws.
It'll be interesting to see how they plan to encourage their voters and make it easier for them to vote, while discouraging Democratic voters and making it more difficult for us to vote.

(12,286 posts)tell their voters that the elections are rigged so why bother to vote and Dems come out in record numbers and wipe them out all over the country
I could live with that

(43,534 posts)While this is music to my ears, I have to question his attribution as to why Democratic voters didn't show up (and thus also why Republicans didn't, either). Re the Democrats, it is just not a fact that massive unemployment is a factor. I realize the election was a few days ago, but this morning they announced unemployment at 5.8%. What it was in NM the last few weeks would be interesting to know.
I also question his attribution of "disenfranchised by the leftist policies out of Washington." Do people there really fear programs like the American jobs program? Is fear of socialism that prominent?

(13,538 posts)Well over 100000 voters from mostly red areas of the state who voted in Nov didnt show for the runoff, because they kept being told "its rigged why bother?". They COULD have won both those seats if not for their own IGNORANCE!!

(12,245 posts)and 3 months in the case of inflation (results tabulated every April) than did the previous guy's....I was looking for a more suitable word, but I guess they were "policies" by definition, if not in fact or design.
These bad numbers (inflation % is normal, but unemployment in NM is high) might be a holdover from the Bush administration, though. If Rs can make yardsticks of any length that's convenient and place the ends wherever they like, I feel I should be able to, as well.
