I'm fighting the fight my uncles fought in the Fifties. It didn't end when Joe McCarthy died in disgrace. I only hope someone will pick up the end of the rope I'll drop when I'm gone.

it is going to take serious action on the part of the Department of Justice (Attorney General) to just kick ass against all of the illegal, questionable, and absurd actions that IQ45 and his mis-administration forced upon our country.
He (TRUMP) needs to be charged, tried, convicted, and locked up and then President Biden can hold a news conference and proclaim that TRUE JUSTICE has been served.

And when it finally does, I'm not sure you and i will still be alive to see it Or, we live through it and wished we hadn't..

No answers. No crystal ball. No heroes or heroins leading the charge on a Calvary to save us.

Wish it 'weren't' this way...

That's pretty much my take on it as well. I have thought about it a lot, and unless there is some kind of deus ex machina scenario in the near future, I don't really see any easy or positive way of turning this around.

I wish I could be more optimistic, but I just don't see things getting better without getting a whole lot worse first.

In the "before times", I always held some measure of faith and belief the more informed we were, the more vigilant in our activism and determination to fight against these forces of evil and insanity, so long as we are unified, we can overcome this horror in solidarity and strength in numbers.

I still believe it's possible. But believing it's likely is a different matter altogether.

We have to first understand with a clear eye on what it is we're dealing with. And secondly, we can't have revisionism of recent events and pretend that Jan 6th was a nothing burger, and what is playing out daily since then is nothing to be concerned about.

Too many "influencers" in the media, government agencies, and others appear to be doing that as evidenced in the slow walking of accountability, and sort of ho hum "that was then" it can't happen again attitude.

Very Dangerous and a standard recipe for repeated and more aggressive recurrence.

With people in our party either unwilling or unable to act to protect democracy, I don’t see it ending any way except with the bad guys winning. It’s just a matter of time.

We have a little reprieve here now with Biden/Harris and Dem control of the House, but as well intentioned as our side may be, I really don't believe we are a match for how brutal and ruthlessly power hungry the republicans can be. They will stop at nothing and the rule of law is meaningless to them.

If we don't match them in their relentless quest for victory at all cost, we might as well throw in the towel. We need to change or die. I honestly don't know to what extent that is possible. Taking the high road, as noble as it may be, is not working for us.

We can trade with each other, allow easements across the physical land of the countries, divide the assets, the debt... make sure both sides have ocean ports. Just one country will become Norway and the other may become Belarus.
