Pool report: Biden left the room to a shouted question regarding whether he has confidence in Dr. Fauci. Suddenly, POTUS's head peeked around the corner, and he answered:
"Yes I'm very confident in Dr. Fauci."

(22,097 posts)doctor who despite the barriers placed in his way by the moronic former PINO and others, went on to accomplish what is a major accomplishment in anybody's book, getting a major portion of the US population vaccinated against this dreaded disease.
If anything, the COVID-19 crisis showed exactly who had the fortitude, the will, and the desire to bring this disease to its heels whereas republicans seemed to tell Americans to 'get sick and die' anyway, but if you live, then you are safe afterwards'. Pathetic.
I hope that in years to come, the sheer incompetence, the gross mismanagement of federal resources to combat this disease will be revealed in all of its horror, when the trump missteps are finally released in full to the public.

(10,131 posts)pandemic. Fauci did as much as possible given that fool in charge. Its truly amazing that even after trump killed a half a million and crashed the economy he still got significant amount of votes. I really worry about the future of this country

(89,244 posts)Biden would do a strict lockdown which would hurt them.
Also without the pandemic Democrats would have had ground campaigns.

(68,539 posts)that simply isn't true. I believe we would have likely lost even with Biden who gave us our best shot. Trump mishandled the pandemic badly and the ensuing economic disaster because of his complete incompetence. Carter had the Iran hostages (and he still almost won). Bush I had an economic downturn and without Perot, he might have won anyway. They were the only two to lose as incumbents since Herbert Hoover. I do no include Gerald Ford as he was not elected and served only two years.

(49,961 posts)He definitely would have been re-elected.
The economy was doing OK in spite of his tariffs. He was stacking the courts which the the base loved.
It took a half million American deaths to wake people up. And even then we just barely squeaked by in a few states to win it. The American electorate is fucked up.
