Amazing to me how psychology as a profession is only now coming to terms with gradated degrees of personality disorders. They were always an abstract for mental institutions, or on release, or Hollywoodesque Phunny Pharms.
But now we know humans have these personalities in varying mixes and degrees. If you've ever known a few, recognized their tactics and proclivities, you know how some have little empathy, restraint, boundaries, morals, or ethics. They give off clues.
Yes, the former guy really tapped into a glorious vein of thuggery.
For some reason, HRC did not have credibility on the campaign trail, to make 'deplorables' stick. I think it was from lack of experience in fiercely contested races, a lot like Mike Dukakis and even Fritz Mondale in that sense. Politics is a competitive sport. Or maybe GOP attacks were overwhelming. They did it to Doonesbury, 1980, with his cartoon series "Reagan's Brain". They were competitive, gotta give 'em that.
