The RightWing, and specifically Repubs, have been insisting that the additional $300/month unemployment benefits was keeping people from returning to work.
Except, for the second straight month, far and away the majority of new job placements were in the low-paying restaurant, leisure, and hospitality sector, EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of what one would expect if people were not returning to work because of additional unemployment benefits.
In April, there were 266K jobs created, but there were 331K jobs created in the restaurant, leisure, and hospitality sector.
In May, there were 569K jobs created, but there were 292K jobs created in the restaurant, leisure, and hospitality sector.
It's difficult to argue that restaurants cant hire workers when more than 50% of added jobs in a single month are in restaurants, leisure, and hospitality.
They just keep on lying.

(12,676 posts)That raised their minimum wages to closer to the $15 an hour.
Several big food and retail companies were advetizing higher wages and better benefits last month; I daresay hospitality and entertainment venues are doing the same.
Anecdotes indicate businesses who raised wages had lots of applicants over the last two months. Supply and Demand is the way most economies work, after all.
