A very wise friend was recently explaining this to me. The margins are so small; as few as 25 people can come in a drastically change politics on the local level which has huge implications. This is the very definition of working smarter not harder.

We need to put more time/effort into down ticket races. It's great having a Democratic president but if he has no support down ticket it is a wasted achievement.
