having some rendering issues. Ditto on the UK ed.

I want these a'holes doing this to be prosecuted within an inch of their lives. 60 minutes did a piece that showed the original group is now RENTING the software for others to do this!

can destroy Iranian centrifuges with Stuxnet, they can surely put these assholes in a place they don't want to be.

I have a feeling we're finally going to see how much muscle intelligence communities worldwide possess, to put these malware/ransomware dipshits in their places.

Please, fuck their shit up. 👹

Numerous websites were unavailable on Tuesday after an apparent widespread at cloud service company Fastly. Dozens of high-traffic websites including the New York Times, CNN, Twitch and the U.K. government’s home page, could not be reached.

The usual rush to interconnect everything without giving the first thought as to whether or not it is truly a good idea. (They had to do this, of course, because there were *gasp* non rich people making money from it!) I cannot imagine that we had any thought as to this not being a great idea... oh wait...

...as if you KNOW it MUST BE a cyber attack. That's the kind of conspiratorial thinking that's turned the Republican party into such a wreck.

As someone who works in software, who sees the messy underbelly of technology on a daily basis, it's fucking miracle this stuff keeps running as well as it does even when not under attack. Failure is always an option.

Clicking the wrong button, pulling the wrong wire, updating the wrong component... you name it, there's a way to break it without meaning to do so. In my day I've taken down more than one website myself, although rarely for more than a few minutes while I scrambled to undo whatever I'd done that shouldn't have been done.

CDN (content delivery networks and what seems to have started this mess), idp's, sso's, nac, csp's, xaas, and a thousand other tender bits that need to work together deliver secure web content worldwide and with good performance.

I'm amazed it works at all. It's really just a house of cards built on a turtles back.

Companies rushing to the cloud aren't thinking clearly. It's always short term interest; never long.
