People I love, including a (now adult) foster son who is about to undergo lifethreatening surgery to - if he is lucky - alleviate the need to wear diapers. If he is not lucky, the surgery may kill him.

Do you really not understand that using weight, disabilities, etc. as an insult is only insulting when it reinforces the societal condemnation of people based on weight or disabilities? No one uses a good head or hair, toned body, etc. as an insult.

I am not defending Trump - feel free to insult him for anything other than characteristics that are stereotypically condemned - AND - shared by people on our side of the aisle. I am defending all of the people like my foster son - and likely my daughter (who has the same disease) in a few years.

Body shaming from a man that has shamed every woman's body as not good enough.

‘Horseface,’ ‘Lowlife,’ ‘Fat, Ugly’: How the President Demeans Women

President Trump has a history of attacking women by mocking their bodily functions, demeaning their looks or comparing them to animals.

snip

Mr. Trump has accused women of having “fat, ugly” faces and of repelling voters because of their looks. He called one woman a “crazed, crying lowlife” and said another was a “dog” who had the “face of a pig.” He said Hillary Clinton’s bathroom break during a 2015 presidential debate was “too disgusting” to talk about. He has repeatedly mocked women for being overweight.

snip

The president often expresses his ire by comparing women to animals, an effort to dehumanize his opponents that he also uses against men.

After his former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman published her tell-all book, “Unhinged,” Mr. Trump responded by calling her “that dog” and a “crazed, crying lowlife.”

Living in a fat body, you get used to it and you grow a thick skin.

Body size isn't a measure of worth or virtue. That's the thing I always keep in mind, even if others don't believe it.

Now tailoring and the fabric in those pants? Choices, very bad choices, no matter what the size.

Of course when it comes to weight, the body shaming is supposed to be OK because it's all about your health and supposedly all your own fault. There are plenty of wishes on DU that the Dotard continue his terrible eating habits in the hope that it kills him. Not everyone who has weight issues eats poorly (I don't) but with the Dotard is is apparently mostly down to his habits.

Perhaps he let it go to his head about the combat exaggeration (well, Secretary CLINTON said she dodged bullets), but the big discrediting of him based only on that was (my humble opinion) too much of a come-down. He's smart, smooth, and spot-on.

The best thing about that whole mess is that it elevated Lester Holt to the plumb anchor spot. He may never have gotten that chance without Brian’s inadvertent help.
