This is the book about how stupid people cause so much damage to themselves and society that intelligent people have to clean up later. The author states that based on his survey of history, the number of stupid people in a society is fairly constant and there isn't much difference between the stupid populations in an ascendant society and one that is going to hell in a handbasket. What is different is how much traction the stupid get. Societies that tolerate stupidity, like having Dr. Tenpenny testify in the Ohio house, are destined to fail while those that suppress the stupid enjoy an upward trajectory.
