..for an old rusty one. An OLD, RUSTY, manure-encrusted, tetanus- and corona-infected pitchfork. With a bent tine. We want to do this right.

Taxes owed is different than paying $0, isn't it?

My question is, Did Bezos pay $0 dollars in Fed taxes or did he pay several million in taxes and then after filing with deductions, did not owe any EXTRA?

Don't pay taxes if you don't have to.

And there's two ways to do that.

1. Don't earn enough to need to.

2. Be rich enough to employ some smart tax lawyers who can find the bridge across the tax river.
(Why swim across the tax river if you can find a tax bridge?)

It's the tax laws at fault.

I mean, expecting these rich types to have a heart and do something they don't want to do, if they don't have to?
Goes against all that made them rich in the first place!

And close down those tax havens! Your headquarters is in Ireland, and all your business income goes there?
Nothing to do with tax breaks, right?

are diseased, fat ticks on the backs of the world’s working people. A considerable portion of the blood they suck ends up in politician’s pockets. These parasitic obstracities will drain the life from societies for as long as their obscene wealth flows.

He’s abiding by the law.

I’ve run into many who call him or other rich people out not understanding it’s really the fault of the legislators they elect.

The problem is tax laws.
