If you plan on sticking with the "Trump will be running in 2024" grift, I suggest you hustle your asses and make hay while the sun is still shinin' - because that shtick is dangerously close to its expiry date.
Trump has been out of office for only five months (!) - and where is he now? He's under investigation on several fronts, a grand jury has been called to determine whether he should face criminal charges, he's got mounting legal fees, he's got loan payments coming due while his properties are losing money, and he shits himself - literally and figuratively - every time someone mentions that there could be some 'flipping' by trusted allies (perhaps even family members) who are now fully in CYA mode.
In addition to the above, the man continues to make a fool of himself - whether he's grabbing the mic at a Mara-Lago wedding to toast the bride and groom with a litany of they-stole-the election grievances, or appearing at an RNC event with a mouth full of slurred words - and pants so bizarre, they got more media attention than keys sticking to the body parts of people 'magnetized' by COVID shots.
We're only five months out, GOP. Where do you think your Orange Anus will be a year from now - two years from now - four years from now?
How long can you trot out a man who is so obviously in mental and physical decline, and raise money by claiming he's your party's pick for 2024? When does this charade stop - and is it before Dear Leader starts posing with would-be supporters while wearing a straightjacket?
All of this to say that if you want to stir up 'the base' in order to loosen up their wallets, you might think about putting together a Plan B - because Plan A (getting Trump re-elected) has about as much chance as him being 'reinstated' in August.
I don't pretend to be a PR genius - but if I were the GOP, I'd get out of the whole "Trump in 2024" thing while the gettin' is good.

(14,760 posts)Admitting such and acting responsible is not easy for them....Being an obstructionist is easy for them...it is lazy and entertaining to the GOP...I think they are focused on blocking fair voting and winning that way....Someone is going to replace tRump as dictator....that is their thinking in my opinion.

Good advice.
Might be worth pointing out to them also that following the MJTs, Gaetzes, Jordans & Boeberts is going to get them nowhere fast. It's OK going to the circus once in a while, maybe, but LIVING there is a bad idea when the tent collapses.

(4,093 posts)He is going to jail, and he will be broke by then, I am surprised that Putin has not realized the buffoon's service to him has also expired, although he may be trying to get the last of his pennies while the buffoon continues to spew stupidity around the country and watches, with joy, how republicans continue to denigrate themselves.
The only danger trump the buffoon poses is that republicans continue to use him as a prop, we all know what they think about him, but he continues to be a useful idiot with the base.

(658 posts)the number of votes that will be cast in their favor. It's the crazies base that they want, not necessarily Trump. At the moment, the crazies are hanging onto some "crazy" hope that Trump will be re-instated. Not to mention the lizard-form aliens who are in control of the shadow government, or flat Earth, or the Israeli space lasers, or the 5G transmitting magnetic metallic substance being introduced into human bodies by way of the covid vaccination, or the Gates Foundations plan to reduce world population by way of the covid vaccination, or... do I need to go on?
I forgot Pizza-Gate... let's not forget Pizza-Gate.
I wonder what a breakdown in the percentage of votes that go to the GOP by way of the groups that they pander to. Right wing Christians, anti-abortionists, Q-Anon, Fox "news" watchers, AM hate radio listeners, etc... They do have a way of accumulating votes. The crazies are just one group. It seems to be large enough for them to try to hold onto.
