@KimZetter
What is happening? This is the second time someone has done something like this in a week. Tweet says he tried to hijack plane but followup tweet say he was trying to open the door to the outside.

Maybe it's time to have security on every single flight these days. The airlines would probably charge extra for that too.

You’ll need a force of about 2/3 the size of the LAPD. They don’t exist.

There is something like a 1% chance there is an Air Marshal on a domestic flight you take.

Maybe they have some pattern that’s not public. A guy in my ex’s family was an Air Marshal. What a horrible job, riding around on planes and staying at per diem hotels.

i'll be flying to indianapolis later this month and in August, back home to CA. LAX.

ironically, i've been going through a health crisis and it was thought I had DVT, but I don't, so I get to fly!

it'll be okay. that's my mantra. i don't doubt that we're all still at greater risk statistically from driving cars right down here on earth.

but am looking forward to a change in scenery, all the money i'll make, and come August, going home!

up until early 2019, i was a frequent traveler. once i get on the plane, pretty much all i want from that point is to get back off the plane. Nowadays there's this outbreak of incivility, the resurgence of frank and open racism, and the fact that i will be wearing a mask in the airport and on the plane.

my plane being hijacked is so far down on my list of things to fret about! (cross fingers wink)

"Up and down the east coast, cicadas are everywhere these days: on trees, fences, mail boxes, your clothes, you name it. The cicada invasion amounts, mostly, to an annoyance, that is, until you find out cicadas have flooded the engine of the airplane you’re about to board. On Tuesday evening, that’s the news the presidential press corps received just before the scheduled departure of the chartered flight full of journalists set to accompany President Joe Biden on his trip to Europe. The plane’s engine had been flooded with the insects, so many that it wasn’t safe to fly.

“The White House press charter, flying from Dulles to Europe ahead of President Biden, has been delayed for hours—due to mechanical issues caused by cicadas,” Associated Press journalist Jonathan Lemire tweeted late Tuesday. “Yes. Cicadas.” The swarm of the insects which, as you probably already know, join us by the kajillion every 17 years for the summer ultimately grounded the flight for hours, pushing the departure from 9 p.m. Tuesday night until past 2 a.m. Wednesday morning."...(more)

Ugh. Hopefully the nutcases don’t like “no frills” airlines, we’re flying Frontier, the only airline that flies to Palm Beach Airport from here. This is the airport that the former guy wanted to name for himself thankfully Palm Beach County refused.

we are a threat. But 3 mass shootings in the news today and we keep reading about crazies on airplanes.

But we do fear expressing out ideas when on line even if they are only political and economic statements.

Tax the rich, and for the ones who have reached out to Putin for political power, and supporting Trump's lie, let's confiscate their wealth and add it to the paychecks and Social Security checks that have been severely reduced by 40 years of wage suppression, and the U.S. treasury.
