I'm beginning to hate numbers, when there is so much hidden behind them....though Ben Crump would certainly know far better than I.

3. Out of curiosity I wonder what % of cops are ever convicted for shooting ANYONE to death?

Seems like a rather over-arching problem is lack of police accountability when they kill people generally.

I would think though that a statistical analysis would prove it mathematically unlikely that the race of these victims didn't play a role in the lack of successful prosecutions.

4. I wonder how many women of other races they killed during this period.

I’m guessing very few.

It definitely wouldn’t be downplayed if it happened.

6. This is why I like to operate in the world of statistics and percentages rather than raw numbers.

If there were also X white women shot dead by police and not one of them was convicted of murder either ... what would/should we make of the situation then?

Not saying that's the case, but I'd need a statistical analysis before I'd form an strong opinion on a subject like this.

It's how my mind works.

Which I will unapologetically and emphatically state is how everyone's mind SHOULD work

7. I'd also need the know the circumstances of the shootings to know if they were unjust.

Were they armed and shooting at the police? Did they try to run over the police with their car? Not every shooting is unjustified.

8. The tweet presupposes that all 50 deaths were unjust, with no regard to details or circumstances.

Some of them certainly are unjust, some certainly aren't. It depends entirely upon the details of each case. For instance, if a cop shot a black woman in the back as she fled (e.g., the shooting of Walter Scott by Michael Slager), that's unjust. However, if an officer shot a black woman who was aiming a gun at him/her, that's a different scenario altogether. Lumping every single shooting under the "unjust" heading, regardless of circumstances, is nonsense. The details matter.
