A Delta Airlines flight from California to Georgia was diverted to Oklahoma on Friday night after a passenger became unruly and had to be subdued, CBS Los Angeles reports. Delta confirmed that the passenger was an off-duty flight attendant.
Delta Flight 1730 out of Los Angeles was originally headed to Atlanta, Georgia, but was diverted to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where the man who caused the disturbance was taken into custody. Passengers aboard the flight said the man made an announcement over the plane's PA system telling the passengers to take their seats and prepare to put on their oxygen masks, CBS LA reports.

(9,650 posts)On the news this morning it was reported he boarded wearing some kind of helmet and pads on his arms and legs.
Seems a bit dodgy to me.
I wonder why they allowed him to board?
Makes no sense.

(15,467 posts)Now if the guy is just a belligerent drunk (or druggie) - I'm not at all sympathetic. On the other hand, a good deal of these 'incidents' seem to have an element of someone not operating with a full deck. And for that - yes I do plead understanding and compassion.
(but, in either case, people can not be allowed to be rampaging around an aircraft - knocking out teeth and trying to open hatches.)
