What would you say are the chances of us retaining control of the House and Senate in 2022?

It seems that people are talking about about the out-of-power party making big gains in this election cycle (1st term president and both houses of Congress all controlled by the same party). But Biden has good approval numbers, and the Republicans in Congress haven't done anything to stand above the crowd.

I know that all races are close and that outcome depends on turnout. That said, what do you think of the chances of the Democrats keeping control of Congress? After Mitch McConnell's comment today, I'm particularly interested in your opinion regarding the Senate.

I hated what I heard. Yes, the vote turnout is pretty much the key. But then the non-stop dirty tactics.

I'm a person of Faith. Yes, some discount this. I understand. But right now it's one of the only things that keeps me going.

In a time when nothing is precedent.

I personally believe the hollering is noise to cover up the crime the Republicans are commiting against the American electorate.

It's the old... "What? Well, the sitting President's party always does poorly in the midterms." by the Pundits.

That's basically how Stacy Abrams got the win of both Senate Candidates in Ga. when all predictions were they'd lose.

Dems are known for low turnout for midterms.

Need to start raising the alarm bells in regard to how important midterm elections are.

based on "history" as if the Republicans are entitled this time around. We need to fight off the anti-democracy legislation so that results can't be overturned in Republican state legislatures and can GOTV.

...if turn-out is high, we're in good shape. If turn-out is depressed, Republicans will do well. But, we all knew that. We may pick up a seat or two in the Senate, but the house worries me; not gonna lie. But in any case, what we can't have anymore of are candidates like Cal Cunningham or Sarah Gideon. Our best shots in the Senate, IMHO, are flipping North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Ryan in Ohio is a possibility as well. I'm less optimistic on Rubio. But, we have exposure with Kelly and Warnock so we have to shore them up as much as possible as well.

Just by redistricting alone, GOP will flip the seats needed to take back the House. Then you have the usual midterm advantage the out-of-power party has.

Trump did much worse than house Republicans last election. The more Trump inserts himself into the election such as pushing to be speaker of the house, the way better chances of Democrats doing well in 2022. Trump polls terrible in purple districts the Democrats have to have.

We have to take important steps now or not only are we going to lose the Senate next year, we're going to lose the whole fucking enchilada.

- Get rid of filibuster!
- Pass election reform!
- DC and PR statehood!

Clock is ticking and we are running out of time.
