Publishers Snub Trump
June 15, 2021 at 6:44 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

Politico: “Almost five months after leaving office, major publishing houses still are wary of publishing a book by Trump, even though a post-White House memoir would almost assuredly be a best-seller. Their reluctance is driven by several factors, though the underlying fear is that whatever Trump would write wouldn’t be truthful.”

“It’s unheard of for a former U.S. president to struggle to score a major book deal after leaving office. And the absence of Trump’s own words from the literary world is made even more pronounced by the fact that several of his top aides and former Cabinet officials are writing books of their own.”

He has no campaign money to do that so publishers know they would be stuck with a loser book.

on the best seller list and he's not going to spend his own money. Today, it is more profitable to self-publish and go digital whenever possible. No one gets stuck with a bunch of "bargain books" that way.

Meanwhile, I don't think the world is crying out for a book by Trump and most of his followers don't read anything longer than a Tweet or a Facebook post.

Welcome to Regnery Publishing, the country’s leading publisher of conservative books. Since Henry Regnery founded the company back in 1947, we’ve focused on publishing books that challenge the status quo, books that spark a debate, and books that get people talking about the issues and questions we face as a country.

From the very start, Regnery has been a major force within the conservative movement, publishing such authors as Russell Kirk (The Conservative Mind), William F. Buckley Jr. (God and Man at Yale), Whittaker Chambers (Witness), and many other giants of American conservatism. Regnery has also led the modern resurgence of conservative publishing over the past couple decades. Our list of authors reads like a “who’s who” of conservative thought and action, including Ann Coulter, David Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin, Dinesh D’Souza, Newt Gingrich, Mark Steyn, Mark Levin, Ed Klein, David Horowitz, Laura Ingraham, Donald Trump, and many more. Regnery has boasted one of the best batting averages in the publishing business–placing more than fifty books on the New York Times bestseller list, including numerous books at #1.

“The underlying fear is that whatever Trump would write wouldn’t be truthful.” Literally LOL. There’s nothing to fear, it won’t be truthful so just go with it. Put it under Fiction, it’ll be a best seller no doubt. The RNC will buy millions just to make sure. I encourage it, our best bet at this point is to keep encouraging the GOP to spend as much of their money as possible propping up the Potemkin “President.”

who never reads books. Perfect.

Mar-ma-lardo was the former home of Marjorie Post, of the Post Cereal fame. She spared no expense in building and furnishing the mansion. She filled the library with rare first editions and the greatest books ever written. Trump has never picked one up and read it. Never.

Think about that. All the collective knowledge in the world at his fingertips, and he's never read any of it. Probably because there's a paucity of pictures and articles about him. How could these be the greatest books in the world if they're not about him, right?

There will never be a Donald J. Trump presidential library. What would they put in it? "The Art of the Scam"? Printouts of his tweets?

Trump is the most shallow, egotistical president in history. There is nothing to be learned from him beyond greed and self- serving narcissism.

Whether it’s truthful or not would be the least of my worries, because you know it won’t be. A message inside the front cover making it clear that the words in this thing are his and we had nothing to do with them would keep the legal wolves away. I would probably go so far as to print on a digital press and make his people lay the book out; when the attorneys for the people he maligned came knocking, “we have no idea what’s in this book; we autoflowed it into an imposition and pushed the print button, and we’ve never even read it” would be sufficient defense.

Given that, if this book wasn’t sufficiently fawning over Fearless Leader, the Proud Boys, Boogaloo Boys, militias, etc., etc., etc. (you know, the guys who would have been thrown out of Malheur for insanity) would be coming after your ass. Look at what they’re doing to election officials who didn’t give 2020 to Trump. I mean, who cares if 25,000 more people voted for Biden?
