But as pointed out numerous times in the article, the lawsuit Trump wanted them to bring wasn't legally viable and SCOTUS would have dismissed it as well. There was absolutely nothing DOJ or the Executive Branch could do to force SCOTUS to hear a case or "rule" on the election. All 50 States had certified their vote. It was over then. Nobody could do anything.
