Voter; "I like Biden, I approve of what he wants to do,

and the majority of his agenda.
But after voting for him I will vote for a Republican Congressperson or Senator who will use all their power to stop Biden from doing anything.
"I want those things, so I will make sure they never happen."

We must convince the majority that the very future of our country and their health and livelihood is more important than "cancel culture" or transgender people going to the bathroom.

We also have to make it clear that the Republicans absolutely refuse to work with the Democrats.

There can't really be bipartisan anything because the country is so badly split?

The 2 sides will never work together on anything.

We're just starting to exit a global fucking pandemic and the 2 parties BARELY worked together through the pandemic... blamed each other for it and weaponized masks, gloves, OTC medicines and treatments.

We're fucked.

Sign me up for the Half of the New Country with less guns and more National Parks.

the Civil War and the sheriffs were setting dogs on demonstrators. Black ones. Who had no legal protections.

We managed to live through that, and could live through this.

It's easier just to go the way of Yugoslavia, MINUS the Civil War part.

(BTW, the "hasn't it occured" may have sounded a bit testy, wasn't intentional)

the Yellowstone supervolcano will go off and we won't have anything left to worry about.

Consider it the modern version of The Flood.

I have been alive the past four years.
But I don't think it is evenly split. Biden's approval, and the agreement with his agenda is in the 60% to 70% for some things.
It's making sure that majority realizes they must vote to make it happen and try to stop the GQP from gaining minority rule.
We must get the people who voted for Biden and then Collins, or the people who are frustrated with the lack of progress right now to NOT vote for the GOP in 2022 thinking something different will happen.
It is about getting those voters, and I believe that is a majority, to understand the reality of what is going on.

I do get your pessimism, I feel it too.

We need fundamental changes in a country where change itself is regulated and slowed.

We need changes to make the country better but that clashes with the founding documents.

I just don't know the answer OTHER than start fresh.

I think the blue country would probably be split down the center by the red country. We'd need to negotiate easements across the red country from the West Coast into the upper MidWest around Mn. And everything South of Illinois and Virginia could be Red.

Split the balance sheet in half. Debt and assets. Split the military, one tank for you, one for me... one nuke for me and one for you...

I'd give it 25 years before the Red Country came back begging for reunification.

A lifelong, devout (!) Catholic, that Joe Biden was not her guy. He should have been the guy she spent her whole life waiting for.
She got lost in Facebook.

It’s remarkable how well the bullshit flooded zone works.
