(10,960 posts)She dinged him again, asking, "What are you so afraid of?"
From a black woman?
Bet he didn't like that one bit.

(1,450 posts)HRC "ain't afraid" neither was Obama. Fascists hate folks who "ain't afraid."

(5,114 posts)child in a very large white family. We weren't "dysfunctional" but very far from "Leave It To Beaver". Because of that "rough" upbringing I am often called upon to handle family business/conflicts because my siblings say I "ain't afraid".
Edit to add: I had to learn to fight, physically & verbally, early on. As a young adult I took karate lessons because I realized how important it was to be able to protect myself.

(23,495 posts)around a table could be thinking the same thing and I would be the one to speak up and say it. And that's very true. Too many people worry about how what they say will be perceived when what they say actually needs to be said.

(5,114 posts)I was fascinated that she would get into fights with boys on the schoolyard. Holy crap - someone like me. Tough, scrappy, and could just be pushed so far. I'll never forget the time my older brother just pushed me so far & I laid into him like a tomcat. I don't think he'll ever forget that either. I don't condone violence, but I had one hell of a childhood.

They believe everyone else is as evil and untrustworthy as they are and must be dominated.

(33,458 posts)Putin becomes a concern troll. Somebody get him a string of pearls. He's going to need them for that follow-up, follow-up question, since he wasn't able to actually answer the first follow-up.
And please, get a translator to translate the translation!
Poor Putin, his inability to actually think on his feet is the outcome of not committing your own murders after years of KGB training followed by years of lazy leadership.
Well done, Rachel Scott!!!

(22,568 posts)Back home in Mother Russia, he doesnt have to worry about being asked uncomfortable questions. Anyone who dares to try is quickly squelched.
It's a lot easier to look like a big, strong, powerful leader when you can arrange things so that you are never publicly challenged. Take away that ability to control everyone around him, and he is revealed as the petty, spiteful tyrant that he is.

(1,408 posts)When he's off script, or isn't answering questions he writes for his "reporters" to ask him at his staged pressers.
He's a mumbling fool.

(114,602 posts)Admitting Ukraine to NATO is going to leave an even bigger one. He really wants at least a defacto annexation of Ukraine and Belarus, something he almost had when there were puppets in both countries and they were afraid of the bear in the woods. This gives Ukraine a pack of mastiffs at the ready and the bear's going to have to look for easier meals.
Putin's not used to tough Democrats. To tell the truth, I'm not, either, but it's a change I welcome. I doubt he'll be pleased.

Translator is stumbling on his translation because
1) he wants a ride home
2) #1 + not falling outta window once home
3) not finding lethal dust on his dinner plate after eating
Anyone else have ideas?

(2,433 posts)Putin DOES murder and imprison political opponents, but casting it as "what are you so afraid of?" descends to the level of schoolyard taunting.
To me, it was embarrassing. Elicited no useful information. Better: "How do you explain that?"
LiberalLovinLug
(14,682 posts)Maybe the first one is the last one. In it she does rephrase it as, "doesn't it the send a message that you do not want a fair political fight?"

I don't know if the reporter rephrased her question on Twitter or anywhere else. I hope someone links to it if she did.
