Picture on Monday looked like she was still in the hospital.
So at least she has an excuse this time...

(26,366 posts)5. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema misses Vice President Kamala Harris' dinner
Harris invited all of the Senates 24 female senators 16 Democrats and eight Republicans to the U.S. Naval Observatory for the event, which harkened an earlier era where lawmakers put aside their political differences in the name of collegiality.
A spokesperson for Sinema, D-Ariz., did not immediately say why Sinema did not attend the dinner.
Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., also did not attend the meal, where senators dined on mahi-mahi and strawberry-rhubarb croustades.
Sinemas absence comes as she is serving as a lead negotiator on bipartisan infrastructure talks in the hopes of striking a deal on an issue central to President Joe Biden and Harris agenda.

(15,325 posts)6. She could have had someone stating her 'PRESENT vote' for her. Right?
She could have just voted PRESENT, by proxy.
😉
Although a newly broken foot would def be a reason to be absent

(11,010 posts)7. I don't think the Senate allows proxy votes. But I could be wrong nt
Budi
(15,325 posts)8. Well. Then her absence is perfectly understandable & excused.
Thanks for that info.

(11,010 posts)9. I just wish she'd put out some sort of statement
We shouldn't have to look back at her activities and figure out why she is a no show, she should send out a press release explaining what's up...
