Donald Trump, Human Parasite, Is Now Telling People Not to Vaccinate Their Kids Against Coronavirus
Helpful as always!

June 17, 2021
Given the opportunity to be of service to their country, most former U.S. presidents are happy to help. Then theres Donald Trump. A stunted man-child whos never done anything without first asking, Whats in it for me? the ex-president has actively hurt America since leaving office in January, largely by doing everything he can to undermine democracy, whether its his continued attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election or telling people hes going to be reinstated as POTUS in a matter of months. Also unhelpful? His decision to prolong the pandemic by telling people not to have their children vaccinated for COVID-19.
Yes, despite regularly insisting that he doesnt get enough credit for the coronavirus vaccines, Trump claimed during an interview with Sean Hannity on Wednesday that school-age children should not be inoculated against the deadly virus. Now we have to get back and the schools have to get openand frankly, were lucky we have the vaccine. But the vaccine on very young people is something that you gotta really stop, Trump inexplicably said. You have to get back to running your countryI mean, I dont see reasonsand I am a big believer in what we did with the vaccine. Its incredible what we did. You see the results. But to have every school child, where its 99.99%, they just dontyou know, theyre just not affected or affected badly. Having to receive a vaccine I think is something that you should start thinking about, because I think its unnecessary.
As usual, the majority of the words coming out of the 45th presidents mouth were a lie. The coronavirus does, in fact, affect children. As Politico notes, more than 2,000 children have been diagnosed with multisystem inflammatory syndrome since the start of the pandemic; MIS-C damages the heart to such an extent that some kids who develop it will reportedly need lifelong monitoring and interventions, while more than 30 have died. According to neonatologist Dr. Alvaro Moreira, MIS-C can hit seemingly healthy kids nearly a month after asymptomatic infections. And while its true that children are less likely to become symptomatic than adults, more than 4 million have tested positive for COVID-19, which they can subsequently pass on to more vulnerable people, contributing to the spread of the virus.
Meanwhile, NBC News reports that virtually all hospitalized COVID patients are unvaccinated, and its not just unvaccinated adults who are at risk for severe illness. In our local hospitals the kids that are getting sick are the ones that are not vaccinated, said Dr. Natasha Burgert, a pediatrician in Overland Park, Kansas. Not surprisingly, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has urged children 12 and up to get vaccinated, citing the recent increase in coronavirus-related hospitalizations.

I guess they don't think too much of them after all.
I think Trump not only likes to see suffering and death, but he likes be an influence that can't be arrested for it.

That's a complication in about .000015 of cases.
That's something to be investigated, but absolutely no reason not to get your children vaccinated.

********PLEASE IGNORE MY POST!!!*****
I should never post before my first cup of coffee. The quote below refers to dangers to children from COVID, not from the vaccine.
From the article: As Politico notes, more than 2,000 children have been diagnosed with multisystem inflammatory syndrome since the start of the pandemic; MIS-C damages the heart to such an extent that some kids who develop it will reportedly need lifelong monitoring and interventions, while more than 30 have died.
I know, I know; the odds of contracting the disease and possibly getting seriously ill are higher then the risk from vaccination. And if children are left unvaccinated they can and probably will contract COVID and pass it on to the more vulnerable.
Still, would YOU want to be the parent who watches your kid develop a serious life long condition, or perhaps even die, because you made them get a vaccine? As I said, Im glad I dont have kids. Its a scary choice, either way.

(8,791 posts)Serious forms of Covid are so rare in children that a few countries with better recent Covid track records than the U.S. like Britain, Germany and Israel may not even officially urge vaccinations for most children. The decision will be up to individual parents. From NYT

(651 posts)I could be reading everything completely wrong, but doesn't the Politico quote suggest that kids contract MIS-C from Covid, not from the vaccine?

(3,539 posts)You are absolutely correct; the risk is from COVID, not the vaccine. I had heard there was a small chance of adverse reactions to the vaccine and thought that was what the article was talking about. Mea Culpa!

(457 posts)There are risks of many kinds for children, but I refuse to live in terror of making "the wrong choice." For me, this is a conscious decision: I am highly susceptible to "paralysis by analysis," so I've had to cultivate a habit of limiting time for decision making. Once I've had a good look at the available information, unless something specifically is calling out for delaying the decision, I make it and commit that I made the best decision I could.
This one is pretty easy, though my children are too young yet to receive vaccine outside a study. So far, I've read about myocarditis in a very small number of adolescents who received the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, which was generally treatable. I would rather teach my children that it is worth the risk to them to protect the community than live in fear of side effects from vaccination. Otherwise, I set the example of being as self-centered as the typical MAGAT. Of course, I'll also be guided by their pediatrician, since that is not my professional area of expertise.
GoCubsGo
(32,098 posts)it can be treated in the early stages, vastly reducing the odds of long-term effects. 4.1 million people ages 12-17 have been vaccinated so far. They've had around 300 cases of myocarditis. That's miniscule, and we don't even know if those are related to the vaccine, or from other causes, including tick-borne viruses. Ticks are really bad in a lot of places this year, BTW.

Yeah, parents always have the final decision. Thats why some kids are raised in churches speaking in tongues and handling snakes.

unweird
(2,559 posts)What vaccine risk are you referring to that has to be balanced against the vaccine benefits? Are you confusing the risk of COVID and the multisystem inflammatory syndrome as being the choice? The multisystem inflammatory syndrome is being correlated with some COVID patients, not with those being vaccinated. At least that is my understanding of the original posting and the Politico citation.

What percentage of these breakthrough cases were symptomatic? Ended in hospitalization? Ended in death?
(I suspect that it is a very low percentage.)
That's why we need to vaccinate.
Of course breakthrough cases can and will happen. They're less likely to happen when a higher percentage of people are vaccinated.

(70,618 posts)Once again Trump is trying to take credit for something he did not do.
And what exactly did he do with the vaccine? Have Kushner steal 20 million doses for his rich friends
and the Saudis on the way out the door? Turn down one company's offer to make 100 million doses?
Have zero plans for distribution and administration of the vaccine? Get vaccinated himself but at the
same time tell his base not to take the vaccine or wear masks?
Trump spent more time worrying about TikTok because Sarah Cooper was living in his head then about
the global pandemic and the C-19 virus.
Trump is responsible for > 600,000 dead Americans and millions world wide because of his actions.

(47,675 posts)there is nothing good in the world that Trump hasn't taken credit for. In the case of COVID, any progress was made in spite of him and all the roadblocks he set up along the way.
Botany
(70,618 posts)... stopped the C-19 virus in China but Trump got rid of all of that "stuff" because
they were "the black guy's idea" and when the administration was told in the fall
of 2019 about the coming pandemic Trump and Kushner did nothing except for
investing in HCQ (hydroxycholoroquine) and his own C-19 test kit both of which
were useless.
And for God's sake don't get me started on Trump and the right going after one of
the best scientists we have ever seen in Anthony Fauci.
These fuckers need to be horsewhipped.
PatSeg
(47,675 posts)were only looking for opportunities to benefit themselves. They never had the public's interest in mind.
