NBC New's insurrection reporter, Scott MacFarlane, explained in a video uploaded to Twitter that one thing he has noticed is that the most egregious information in the cases of Capitol attackers isn't in the sentencing documents, but in their battle to be released before the trial.
In the video, he explained that he reviews every document published in the trials of those who beat police officers, chanted to hang Mike Pence and those who attempted to assassinate Democratic leaders.
"Some of the most compelling arguments from prosecutors the most illustrative arguments not coming in the charging documents but when they're trying to hold defendants in jail pending trial," he said.

(1,372 posts)Appears as though cult-leader Charles Manson (dude on the right) did not die in prison back in 2016 = (?).

(38,056 posts)The AQ fund - or his wife can't. He graduated 4 years behind me.
If he was at Aquinas - he wasn't poor. He wasn't put upon. It is a school for people to feed their children to University.
The people in charge there graduated with me, or a year or two ahead of me. They aren't going to lift a finger to help his family. There is no fund or help like there was after 9/11 for Alums families who lost their lives.

(3,191 posts)It is no surprise that these dysfunctional narcissistic man-toddlers all have a history of abusive behavior. They sure don't like being locked up do they? I say throw away the key.

(115,409 posts)Then they may become a little concerned, especially if 1 or 2 of the more egregious defendants get 10-15 years in prison?

(38,726 posts)long sentences.. Of course these "egregious defendants" haven't got a clue...and never had a clue..
It is against the law to break into the Capital and attack others..Why do that???
Very Simple: These idiots were sure that they were going to .."get away with it" like their hero', Donald Trump...
....I am guessing that Trump will be charged by the Atty General of New York
State, and possibly convicted..(up to the jury) but Trump's attitude that he can..."get away with it
was one reason that the riot took place ....or insurrection ....or whatever you want to call it...
These idiots were sure that they would...."get away with it with no consequences at all"......
no arrests, no trials, no jail time...no pictures that convict...nothing at all...(stupid is still stupid)

(54,001 posts)these characters. There are people in Congress, wealthy backers and influential talking heads from hate radio and tv who are complicit and shouldn't get away with this.
But those invisible power brokers are just hoping that Americas thirst for justice will be slaked by putting a few Rightwing-flagpole carrying-nut jobs in jail.
My fear is that the high-level ones in government will remain hidden in plain sight to continue their obscene destruction of democracy.
