Is anyone else getting sick of hearing the word bipartisan?

I know I am. It seems like such a fanciful ideal right now. I mean the Dem Party is deal with opposition that has openly said they're not going to operate in good faith. Their leader has made it overtly clear they're not going to agree to anything.

Operating fairly and honorably with that kind of opponent doesn't seem noble and up right to me, it seems foolish. But some seem ready to even toss democracy into the trash in search of this dream of working hand in hand with a group who's sole interest is power and has demonstrated over and over that they'll toss out 'bipartisanship' in an instant when it suits them, even bypassing Sinema, Manchin and others' precious filibuster at the drop of a hat to ram what want through and will do it again when they are in power.

And they will be back in power, perhaps even sooner than we think with such a slim majority in the Senate. Its not being paranoid and overly combative, its something they've done and recently. But the Democratic Party always seems to want to play by rules and norms that are being held by both sides which puts them at such a disadvantage that its painful to watch. Its not even all the Senate democrats but with such narrow number they need to pull together more than ever, at the very least on some critical matters.

I know the party doesn't have a magic wand or something they can wave and fix everything, but this just seems like tripping themselves up in the (to me) false belief its doing the right thing or being noble thing. And that's beyond frustrating or disappointing, its tragic.

Republicans are incapable of compromise. Therefore, bipartisanship currently is a waste of time.

Compromise is where they get everything they want and they might let your get some trivial concession or two, if they're feeling generous and get all the credit if the resulting act is successful BUT, and here's the best part, they'll generously allow you (will encourage it be going give to you in fact) all the blame and responsibility to any problems that result from it. Now that's bipartisan legislation at GOP apprved finest.

It's a completely ridiculous notion, when the Reptilian Party has only one goal: total destruction of the country.

I feel like the party is just biding it's time until 2022, when it loses the House and perhaps the Senate, because they thought the other side was bargaining in good faith.

and we’re getting short on time.

I hope that the party knows well what’s happening and will forget about Republican “partisanship”, as there is none. It’s a new ball game now, and we need to kick it into high gear, or kiss our asses goodbye.

And the Republican intelligentsia (term used loosely) know they can manipulate with it. Conventionally, bipartisaniship results from the necessity of compromise when multiple opinions are involved. Sort of how adults make agreements.

Then con is that the Republican masses don’t see that their leadership always plays the bipartisan card, whether in the majority or minority, to maintain unreasonable stances and bullsh*t their voters into believing Democrats are unyielding ideologues, when of course the opposite is true.

And the difference between Republicans and Democrats is that Dems would never tolerate such underhandedness or dishonesty from its own leaders, even to get what they wanted. I know I wouldn’t.

I don’t see how any self-respecting human being can stand to be a member of the republican party at this time. They stand for nothing except their own provincial and perennially outdated concerns.

In Republicanese, it means, „the Democrats cave, and give us what we want.“ In English it is just an obsolete term describing occasional compromise and/or collaboration that existed before the election of Barack Obama.
