"The modern polarized system has created, in effect, a new Constitution ...

“The modern polarized system has created, in effect, a new Constitution w/overwhelming advantages for Rs. New laws require 60 votes, but existing programs can be defunded with 51. Judges, who can be appointed w/a mere 51 votes, can strike down laws that required 60 to pass”

2. The country is actually center left, which is why Dems have won 7 of the last 8...

What's right wing is the concoction of the filibuster, the Electoral College, stolen SCOTUS seats/right wing judge appointments approved by only 51 Senate votes and right wing gerrymandering which over the decades has moved what comes out of DC, red state states houses and courts decidedly rightward.
