totally incompatible with that.

The average prison sentence on that charge for a defendant who had no prior criminal record is 12.5 years and that is without aggravating factors. I'm going to say 15 years.

Maybe he'll get put in general population and someone will kneel on his neck for nine minutes.

Guess I was saying more what I would like to see rather than being realistic. I'll go with 25 years then, if that's possible for second degree murder.

Follow sentencing guidelines. Some on DU want life. I understand the sentiment, but would not be the way we do things.

I’m guessing 12 years.

And, the fact that it's multiple charges.
I'm going with 10-15, 6 minimum in jail before parole.
Also, banned from holding a position in law enforcement.

I'm not sure how thoroughly some states do background checks.
So, a ban might be useless anyway.

If his conviction stands appeal, he will be in violation of Federal law if he come within reach of a firearm; and no state laws will be able to stand in the BATFE's way in the matter. That charge alone could get him another ten years in Club Fed.

Chauvin is done as a cop, or any other professional as far as that goes. His best hope would be to work for someone like the NRA who may welcome him with open arms. Of course, with a little luck, by the time he gets out of prison, the NRA may be a bad memory.

Seems unnecessary.
Do I have an inherent distrust of police departments? Yes.
So, there we are.

An exchange of ideas, a search for truth. If you make a statement, be prepared to defend it or retract it.
