There's A Stark Red-Blue Divide When It Comes To States' Vaccination Rates

There's a huge political divide. Speaking over the weekend, former President Donald Trump took credit for the vaccine rollout and told a North Carolina crowd of supporters that "most of you" have likely been vaccinated.

But surveys have shown Trump supporters are the least likely to say they have been vaccinated or plan to be. Remember, Trump got vaccinated before leaving the White House, but that was reported months later. Unlike other public officials who were trying to encourage people to get the shot, Trump did it in private.

The top 22 states (including D.C.) with the highest adult vaccination rates all went to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
Some of the least vaccinated states are the most pro-Trump. Trump won 17 of the 18 states with the lowest adult vaccination rates.

Many of these states have high proportions of whites without college degrees.

These Pieces Of Shit are going to spread the virus, create variants, prolong the pandemic, and endanger the lives of even the vaccinated.

But I am at least glad that it appears a higher proportion of them will die as the result of their stupidity. Too bad it's not 100%.

I was talking to hubby about this the other day. Some might say we are denying the science by continuing to restrict our outings and wearing masks when we do have to go somewhere. We are both fully vaccinated. However, the only consequence of our actions is our own personal inconvenience and we don't mind. But the anti-vaxx anti-maskers are putting themselves, their families, and everyone they know at great risk with their actions. It's insane.

I'm vaccinated as are all the adults in my family, but I have grandchildren who are not old enough yet. What if I was that person who became infected even after vaccination and passed it on to them? I would never forgive myself.
