TRUMP STATES IN CRISIS!

The curious concern of red state creeps over crime in "Democrat-run cities" only brings to light the utter disaster conservative states are mired in. When it comes to statistics that determine quality of life, Republican states represent the bulk of the very bottom. The best way to fix this is to enlighten the Tom Cottons, Marsha Blackburns et al. just what terrible shape the states they represent are in, and the best use of their oversized pie holes is to look homeward and speak to the problems that make their districts a collective national embarrassment.

Below is a series of stats that should humble your Mitch McConnells and Gym Jordans (if they had a shred of character). While there are occasional blue states that mingle among the bottom, it is red states that shine as the worst.

The ol' "Make America Great Again!" bull-shittery doesn't work on voters who are fairly content with their lives.

Hey! It just occurred to me that this also explains why the Republicans have given up any attempt to come up with any kind of legislation to actually improve the lives of Americans: they want to keep their voters angry and riled up so that they will vote for the party they THINK will ride to their rescue.

when she said that as a Catholic she does not hate Trump, but that her heart, instead, is filled with love, and that she prays for him. (Something along those lines.) I don't follow any one religion, but that resonated with me. So I'm trying not to hate them, but to feel sorry for them instead and to see them as victims. This is extremely hard to do, though, when they act so hideously.

Pregnancy can be dangerous, and Republican states have some of the worst death rates. These numbers are from worldpopulationrwview.com.

Here are the 10 states with the highest maternal mortality:

Louisiana (58.1 per 100k)
Georgia (48.4 per 100k)
Indiana (43.6 per 100k)
New Jersey (38.1 per 100k)
Arkansas (37.5 per 100k)
Alabama (36.4 per 100k)
Missouri (34.6 per 100k)
Texas (34.5 per 100k)
South Carolina (27.9 per 100k)
Arizona (27.3 per 100k)

I’d also like to see what these states contribute to the Federal coffers vs take.

I remember seeing a chart showing California and New York contribute more than they take and these deep red states are the true welfare states. The sad thing is that the residents of the taker states are more easily deceived by the similar repuke propaganda because of their poor education. Why they keep voting repuke when the repukes do nothing for them but give tax cuts is insane.

41. Here's One Example
Wed Jun 23, 2021, 06:36 PM
Jun 2021

This is why our federal government runs a deficit every year. The traditional red states mentioned above, however, receive more — much more. For example, Mississippi received $2.13 for every tax dollar it sends to Washington by way of federal taxes, West Virginia $2.07, Kentucky $1.90, and South Carolina $1.71.

[More Maryland news] Nominate your favorites for the 2021 Carroll’s Best »
For some large traditional blue states, California receives only 96 cents, Massachusetts 83 cents, Connecticut 82 cents, New York 81 cents, and New Jersey 74 cents for every tax dollar they sent to Washington. The discrepancy is significant.

There's also ranking for federal dependency (for state & for residents). Illinois is not high on the list above, but is very high on that dependency. Almost all states high in dependency are red states.
On Edit: I found a link to the dependency ranking.

It's a desert state in the best of times and it's not the best of times, there is a drought out here that has been amended from a 50 year event to a century to 500 years and now 1000 years. It's bad. Plus, most of the state is straight up and down, it]s the southern Rockies. The main river is not navigable It will always be a poor state. in other words.

However, a lot of the legal and social stuff we take for granted here would be considered radical in Boston.

Other poor states on the list have a lot more resources going for them than NM has. What they lack are people who give a damn about anything but power who can get elected, usually because of ingrained cultural horse shit and a strong bias toward sadism and gratuitous cruelty to any "other."

in these states. The White House released a 4 minute ad for the internet using a woman from Kentucky driving around showing the problems with Eastern Kentucky. No potable water, roads and bridges unusable. One bridge had a sign that said “China Build Us A Bridge”. And Dems should be on every media platform touting the American Rescue Plan and how it will begin to put direct payments into families with children starting July 15. And they should make it known that no Rs voted for it. When that money starts hitting their accounts then dare the Rs to take it away. Dems need to hire more some Never Trumpers like The Lincoln Project who know how to play hardball.

The legislature is gerrymandered and stupid. (Think Gym Jordan.) The point of all legislation is to make the very wealthy wealthier (it's good for bidness, don't ya know) and to be as cruel as possible to the poor. Right now the legislators are happily making it harder for families to access SNAP benefits. So, you have decent car to get you to the job we demand you have??? No SNAP for YOU!!! So you worked hard and saved a little money? No SNAP for you.

In education--funnel public funds to private schools and charters.

The legislature is even trying to block municipal broadband, which has been a huge success in REPUBLICAN suburban communities.

And then there is the constant attack on reproductive health and on the LGBTQ community.

Golly, and Ohio wonders why SO many young residents are leaving. ...

Waste of time. I've flat out told tenants that if they ever want to get off the system they'll have to cheat to do it. A couple have done just that and ended up voluntarily leaving it & being able to buy a house. But it was in SPITE of the govt, not because of it.

Things have been this way for 50 years, so it's normal to them.

Dems have to come up with a way to convince them they're being short-changed and taken advantage of by the Repubs. But saying to their face that they're ignorant savages that hate the rest of America has proven to not work.

And you can't just send Biden or Obama up there to say it once or twice. The effort has to be given over time to make these kinds of gains / changes. A post on DU here and there, and a bunch of people going "yeah, those fucks need to learn" is a great way to get angry and accomplish absolutely nothing. Except maybe a little venting.
