To help get the infrastructure passed.

What they should do with the "bipartisan" Republicans on this committee is make them list the 2 most important projects in their state or district. They should then sign that list. If they can't get enough of their Republican colleagues over the line to get the bill passed, these should be released to the media in their home states or districts as not negotiating in good faith - that they missed out on the jobs and repairs this dealing deprived them of. If they can't peel enough of their colleagues away from Mitch McConnell they don't deserve any credit for anything that gets done.

2. They may not vote for the package, but I don't think they'll filibuster it.

The optics are too good for them.

I would bet that a part of this agreement is that there will be no supplemental reconciliation package, and that every single one of the Dems on this gang of 20 or 21 or whatever it is now will not support said reconciliation package.

the Senate and House and then use the good will generated by that...and the progressives will need to remain calm as neither side got all it wanted...and hope the good will lasts with Manchin, Sinema et al to stay on board with Biden and Schumer so we can pass an even bigger bill by reconciliation with no republicans needed.

That's the dual track they've been speaking of. Being cooperative may even help with the third track, the voting rights bills, which have to be bipartisan as they're not budget bills and must go the 60 vote route. It will be very hard though with McTurtle, but maybe the same bipartisan group will defy him.

If any Dem did, I would think it would be a more progressive senator. I also wonder if it would get enough Dem votes in the house.

I forget who tonight was saying about the infrastructure bill is they administration has to go out and keep it popular with the ordinary people. The more popular it is and the more people know what is in it, the Republicans who helped craft it will be reluctant to go back on their word. They have to keep emphasizing the effort everyone put into the bill and the good things in it.
