Derrick Chauvin Sentencing!! Please Share Your GUESS or PREDICTION!

At the time I am writing this OP, Derrrick Chauvin will be sentenced by a judge. If you have read this OP before (TODAY) 2:30p , can you give a guess on how many years he will receive and share it? If you have read this OP after his sentencing and do not know how long he is sentenced, please try to make a guess on how many years he will get before you find out and share it. Lastly, if you have predicted how long Chauvin will be sentenced before the sentencing, please share it also.

I will guess that former officer Chauvin will be sentenced to 5 years in prison with the possibility of parole. We are just too soft on cops!

The maximum for the most serious offense is 40 years, which is improbable since that maximum is very rarely imposed, and only on defendants with lengthy criminal histories. 20-25-ish is more likely.

I'd like to see more, but average for first offender is 12.5 and with aggravating factors, 15-20 sounds likely

Guidelines say 12.5 unless there are aggravating factors, which the judge says there are in this case. Doubtful he will go to the max which could be overturned on appeal.

I guess 21 years, parole eligible in 14.

The judge has already said four of the aggravating factors apply that would justify an upward departure from the guidelines, so there's no chance it will be less than the presumptive sentence. The only question is how many years more than the presumptive sentence will be imposed. No way will it be only five years. He probably won't get the maximum of 40 since that's very rare and is usually imposed only on defendants with a very lengthy criminal history.

he was convicted of is 40 years, and that maximum is usually given only to people with very lengthy criminal histories. The prosecution has asked for 30 years, and there's a good chance they'll get it.

Why? I don't have a good reason.

But I think he should get the maximum based on the heinousness of the crime. Chauvin is a sociopath, and a danger to society.

and the judge has already found 4 aggravating factors. He'll get more than the guidelines, not less.
