(65,191 posts)I'm not entirely ruling out one of them ends up with his butt in a sling, but that's not happening in the near future.

(65,191 posts)And, I agree.
But, he isn't flipping this weekend, and they're aren't convening a special grand jury by next week.
I can, however, certainly envision your scenario.

(7,286 posts)All the "insiders" on background reported/tweeted indictments were "happening soon"... That was going for weeks before I finally turned off my cable news (MSNBC) viewing for good.
Now I don't have to be subjected to all indictments are immanent bullshit anymore.
But now then similar headlines to the same effect appear here.
I take it you understand that it's all bullshit, these hucksters and traitors will never be held to account. not ever.

(1,385 posts)By charging the company, will effectively bankrupt the company. No bank will deal with them, trump inc is overleveraged, has some huge loans coming due. Trump runs on debt, he will be cut off from reputable lenders.
ProfessorGAC
(65,191 posts)...reputable lenders.
That's why they've gotten at least $900 million in foreign loans since 2014. Those are the "no installment", pay in full loans we've learned about since 2016. (And, we now know the Deutschebank loans were suspiciously obtained.)
There's also reasonable suspicion that the continued sham election fraud fund raising is more about making interest payments & prepping to pay those promissory notes than real political action.
There isn't a US bank or venture cap firm that wants his promise to repay! He's very high risk.

So, where does the failed tycoon go when all legitimate funding sources are closed off?
Wherever they are, Roy Cohn's star student finds them.

How many others are there? No way to know.

(43,049 posts)those hotel rooms and Trump Tower suites held by "suspicious" foreigners?
Thing is, he's really not smart enough to work all that out for himself. Nor is anyone in his family. And his mentor, Roy Cohn, ended up the big time loser.
Could it end up being a comedy of errors? He fucked everything up so badly that it's impossible to untangle enough of the string to charge him?
The genius of Trump-- don't know anything about anything you're doing, but do it with a straight face and don't stop while everyone else falls by the wayside and clears your way.
It helps to not have a conscience or ability to be embarrassed.

(65,191 posts)Probably another BKO and creditors will be left holding the bag again, at 28¢ on the dollar.

(16,254 posts)$800M, if Jared defaults, the taxpayers pay it back (according to an article on DU a week or so ago). That couple is also deeply involved in building a new mansion on an expensive lot on an island for around $70M...lot/mansion. Didn't Jared also borrow a ton from Saudi Arabia?
Trump is up for hundreds of millions in defaults and will probably end up in another bankruptcy unless the courts turn him down.
I wonder what was really in the Gucci bags he carried out of Trump Tower yesterday? Maybe numbers he needs to access/hide/launder his millions on some cooperative island?
I don't see him behind bars, but it would be interesting to see him on the streets.

And damn it, I thought the Feds raided those offices two years ago.

(16,254 posts)Apparently, he was meeting with his lawyers (after seeing what happened today with possible indictments coming up).
The first thought was he was trying to soften the rage from the women of the family once they heard by giving them fancy gifts, but then I thought...hey, they probably have lots of Gucci, Tiffany, etc., bags around the house and he could be sneaking paperwork out and past the people following him.
My mind is getting weird, I know.

(7,286 posts)Editing to Add:
Just skimmed through Breaking News Headlines and found an article reporting Trump's lawyers have been informed that Manhattan office is "Considering Charges"..... Reading on, it's clear to me why there hasn't been a flurry of posts, is because there's nothing of significance that has actually occurred on the surface. But I think it could be argued, that Trump was tipped off on some important evidence which he was then able to bag up and haul away, in effect disappearing important evidence which might have ensured prosecution.
Did Vance's team tip the lawyers off on the golden nuggets of evidence that would have nailed him? If true, this is over.

So apparently I missed some very BIG news yesterday? Has he been indicted?
About a month or so ago, I just couldn't take any more "cable" news shows. Mind you, I only listened to MSNBC afternoon and evening line up. The hourly reporting of the evils of the Republican party shenanigans and outrageous antics on all fronts involving elections of 2020 and future elections impacted my mental and emotional health to a degree that I just had to turn it off and keep it turned off.
And the reports on developments of TFG's legal troubles, just seemed like fantasy island after a while, it just seemed like nothing in reality was actually having an impact on his continued behavior and his freedom to continue to commit more fraud with his bogus fundraising schemes.
So what the hell did I miss yesterday? Was he indicted? Has charges been brought against him in court?
I didn't see any headlines to that effect yesterday. I'll look for them now.

(16,254 posts)Or, it may be another attempt to goose Weisselberg into flipping.
I keep getting the feeling that his sliminess will be thick enough that he wiggles his way out of charges.
His father taught him well.
