(47,351 posts)and his crazy supporters are still among us. As much as we'd like to, we really cannot ignore him.
If he shows up in the news, he will show up here. Someday he will be a distant, unpleasant memory, but not today.

(16,348 posts)And I would strenuously object if asked to do so.
Like it or not, he still exists, and he is still a threat to our democracy. He is dangerous and will continue to be so until he dies or is beyond bars (or the GOP regains its senses and tells him to go pound sand). Ignoring him or pretending he does not exist would be very unwise, imo.
In addition to that, there has been an uptick of news lately regarding legal action that involves him, and I'm
pretty sure that's only going to increase.
I'm all for not uttering his name any more than is necessary. We have plenty of nicknames to choose from. But never mention him here at all? That's not going to happen.

(146,281 posts)I never agreed to such a thing, and you have mentioned him in this very post, besides.
He will play some sort of role in politics for some time to come. I'm not going to ignore that, and will post if I think what is going on is worthy of discussion.
There was no decision made by the administrators of Democratic Underground regarding mentioning the former guy, by name or other wise. The rest of us are all just forum members, and do not set policy.

(2,949 posts)I misspoke. Never meant to imply we had an agreement. Just thought it was an unwritten idea shared by many to keep him out of the news/headlines. Many years ago a politician told me "if my name is in the press whether good news or bad news, it is good for me."
