The daughter of an unvaccinated woman who died from the coronavirus said her family will still not be getting their shots, according to the Daily Beast.
Molly Hart, a physical therapist from Bradenton, Florida, was left devastated after her mother, Mary Knight, passed away from complications related to COVID-19 last week. However, the tragic event did not change her stance on getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
"No one in my family will be getting the vaccine," Hart confirmed to the Daily Beast.
Hart said she believes her mother, who was 58 years old, did not die from the coronavirus but that it was a "freak thing" caused by "stress."

(9,103 posts)Getting blood work is always a strain for which i take measures to minimize. Images of hyperdermics being inserted into skin--which pop up every hour or more if you watch any cable news--make me sick to my stomach.
Even so, I made an appointment, closed my eyes, and got the vaccine.
There is treatment for needle aversion, and various strategies for coping. And I would have thought the death of a loved one would outweigh any aversion, no matter how severe.

(13,640 posts)to having our skin penetrated by an object. Its a survival mechanism. Most of us, like you, are adult enough to put up with it when necessary. I think some are able to fool themselves by claiming a philosophical belief, or extraordinary strength and immunity, when its just the primal fear of needles. And theyre too weak-minded to overcome it.

(9,103 posts)In fact, quite the opposite. I've usually felt embarrassed whenever I get blood work or have to deal with any injection, having to tell the medical person involved of the measures I need to take to get through it. Luckily health professionals have become much more understanding, but as a child I was often told to "suck it up." Often times those dispensing the advice regretted it, when I fainted or--better yet--threw up all over their cubicle.
Once people began treating it as an actual medical issue--as opposed to a character flaw--everything became much less stressful.
Anyway, thank you for your very kind words.

(13,640 posts)claim theyre protected by God, or have a good immune system, or that they just dont believe in one or more aspects of the reality concerning the disease. Just a cover-up for their primal fear.

(24,681 posts)I didn't watch the needle when I got vaccinated, and I don't watch the needle for the flu shots.
I don't watch the needle for intraveinous "stuff" going into my blood.
I never watch the gigantic needle the Red Cross uses when I donate.
But, I hope I NEVER watch as they push a tube down my throat into my lungs. Avoid that if you can.
