1. It's up to the condo owners to maintain their building

They elect the Homeowners Association board, which hires a property management company, which hires contractors to do maintenance work.

The unit owners through the association own and operate the land and common facilities as well.

It's sort of a socialist form of real estate ownership.

no amount of maintenance can make up for shoddy building practices.

This is partial common ownership of housing by the inhabitants.

Government ownership is not necessarily the case.

then consumers will stop buying it and the company will have to change its ways or go bankrupt, right? Perhaps a few will get sick and die before the news gets around but hey, that's just the cost of doing business, right?

Vaccines or masks in their own profit interests need gubmint to tell them not to.

Remember Republicans have no real principles. When they claim one, it is subject to reversal in the right circumstances.
