4. Talked to a FB friend in Portland

told me he had two window units, but was giving one to the neighbor who has none..

5. My brother lives near Victoria, BC

He called twice yesterday with weather updates. It was 91 at 11am and 104 later in the afternoon. No one has air conditioning. He has a ceiling fan over his bed. He said fans were sold out days ago. He is 74, staying inside, drinking fluids and plans to take showers and lie under that fan if he cannot cool off. He said he had kept his blinds closed and just hunkered down.

I told him that when his daughter in Seattle emailed earlier about their one room air conditioner, we encouraged her to buy wind and solar stock for the future.

This is the future.

It's "only" 93 here and I feel guilty complaining given what's going on in the PNW.

These temps are weird. We usually put our window unit AC in around late July or August. This year it was in the window in May and we're using it very regularly.
