the rest of the story!"

Brilliantly weaving the narratives surrounding the "controversy" (in the eyes of the Tucker Carlsons of the world) of learning American history as related to slavery and civil rights with today's news on the death of that guy played by Steve Carell in that movie starring Christian Bale as "Uncle Dick".

So damn sad, makes me want to read those autobiographies.

And people need to remember what a villain Rumsfeld was. Props to Rachel!

She reminded me of a lot I had forgotten about Rumsfeld. I now remember what a condescending asshole he was to the press.

So he’s gone to the Big Unknown Unknown. A special place in Hell, no doubt.

Her slice and dice of the Mount Misery liar and killer is exactly what Americans need to remember about the evil that he was.

I did not know about Frederick Douglass' torture at Covey House, or Mount Misery. And then when she started asking who would buy such a house, I started thinking, Burr? Miller? Ivanka? So many Republicans to choose from! LOL.

But it really was perfect to hear it was Rumsfeld. It encapsulated his character. Her short piece was the best reflection on Rumsfeld's death that I have heard.

'Who Would Do That?': Rumsfeld Made 'Mount Misery' Getaway Home - Rachel Maddow - MSNBC
https://www.democraticunderground.com/1017664856

Rachel Maddow revisits the story of Frederick Douglass being sent by his slave owner to a "slave breaker" to be made docile and have his will broken. The location of the horrific torture that entailed was a plantation called "Mount Misery" and at least one person was untroubled enough by its history to purchase it as a country home. Aired on 06/30/2021.

... and still bought it!

Now I'm wondering about Rumsfeld's home in Taos NM, where he died. It's probably the renovated known location of where Spaniards killed, tortured and enslaved Pueblo Native Americans in the 1500's or 1600's.
