NEW YORK Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg surrendered to authorities early Thursday after prosecutors secured grand jury indictments against him and former president Trump's company.
Charges against Weisselberg and the Trump Organization are expected to be unsealed later in the day in New York State Supreme Court, several people familiar with the developments said. On Wednesday, people familiar with the case said the charges were related to allegations of unpaid taxes on benefits for Trump Organization executives.
Weisselberg is the first individual to be charged in connection with a long-running criminal investigation by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. (D), who is now collaborating with New York Attorney General Leticia James (D) to investigate Trump's business practices. The Trump Organization also will be arraigned, represented in court by one of its attorneys.
Weisselberg arrived at the Manhattan criminal courthouse through an employee entrance at about 6:20 a.m., according to journalists who saw him arrive.

Were any of them kept off the books? Weisselberg will soon find out just how much they know, in my opinion.
It was very smart to go after the Trump Organization, in my opinion, instead of Donald Trump in name, because they are one and the same, in the final analysis.

(21,304 posts)MF45 is not stupid, he is mentally ill. A lot of his organization is in his kids' names. Like the MF45 tower in Azerbaijan that was built to launder money, some of which went to the Iranian Republican Guard. Ivanka's name was on that project. MF45 if given the choice of jail or throwing Ivanka under the bus, bye bye Ivanka.
I am not arguing against your point, however. It was the best move to go after the organization because that is the best way to flip Weisselberg and if he flips, MF45 is toast.

(25,241 posts)What happens to AW?
Mug shots? Is he taken into custody and jailed? Is he allowed bail and just released? Would he be considered a flight risk?
What exactly happens now and what comes next?

(5,857 posts)but I'm guessing he had a prior agreement with the prosecution to be let out on his OR (or posted bail).

2) Possibly serve some time in jail in a US prison.
# 2 seems like the least bad choice

(3,386 posts)I don't know why I had that gut feeling last night when hearing about this. I believe that his big mistake, so far, has been to not collaborate because he could have asked for protection, now he is there all by himself, has not collaborated but there is always the chance he may, that is not good enough for the mafia, they won't take the risk of him possibly opening his mouth against el padrino trump.
That is what happened to Epstein, he should have collaborated immediately and ask for 24/7 security, instead they seem to trust that trump the buffoon will have their back when in reality it is behind their back that they are going to get him. I cannot believe these people still do not know the buffoon doesn't care for any of them, that to save himself he will throw everyone under the bus, they have seen it over and over, why do they think they are special?

(432 posts)3) Appear defiant publicly, but secretly give the NSA, CIA, DOJ enough juice to go after the Russians.
By choosing #3, he pleads guilty and gets enough time Club Fed until they can bring down Trump and his Russian pals. - which I think is the entire point of this case.

(4,690 posts)I think that they're already in trouble, she said. I think that he's not cooperating. I think when somebody doesn't cooperate it's because the other person might just have a lot of leverage on you, and that is a reason why you are afraid to flip.
Pushed to elaborate, Jennifer Weisselberg said that she thinks the person who has leverage over Allen Weisselberg is Donald."
