General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDoes anyone know what the grievances were, of the mob that attacked our Capitol?
Other than, they were following the marching orders of their Leader, Donald Trump? Was their only grievance that they believed the election had been stolen?
Were they persecuted? Were they over-taxed? Were they victims of the system in some way?
What specifically were their "grievances" ?

(53,986 posts)This is not a blue collar crowd, which many are inclined to believe. A lot of the joking on DU would have us believe that Trump's most violent supporters are poorly educated working class white dupes for the establishment. But such people are rarely able to just hop on a plane to DC in the middle of the week.
The maga shaman notwithstanding, most of these people are not literal basement dwellers, except in the moral sense.

(58,620 posts)losing the election means that their hatred and violence would have to go back underground, as it will no longer be tolerated by folks in real society. It'll take a while to suppress, but that's the trendline.
